If I were you, I would choose a larger size. They become shorter after being washed and do not retain their form very My child is 2 years old, so I had to buy a 3t for him. Once you wash it, though it does its job, it is not of the best quality.
That's not the case. It's completely opaque.
On the size chart, it says what size you are and what age you are. grandchild is wearing a size XL, so you have to know your child's growth pattern.

This is for my daughters' Halloween costumes (Hogwarts students), which I ordered two of. The shirts were just what we needed for Halloween and I was thrilled they would be able to wear them after the event, but when I took them out of the dryer after the initial wash, the length was much shorter than it was before. The short belly shirt did make us laugh, and my daughter begged to keep it because she wanted to show off her belly, but we ended up in the trash as it didn't work out. The shirt doesn't suit me well because I don't like single wear clothing. **I should note that my girls are tall, so the shrinkage was an issue for us, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for a shorter girl.

You did a great job with these! These wash up beautifully. I put them in the wash and machine dried them on delicate, and they did not shrink or fade. There were tough times finding the right size for my daughter (who needs a little bit of a larger size for her age) and these were great! In addition to being super soft, they also do not pill or fade! Although the buttons are a little tricky to press and release, it's not too hard to do. However, maybe as they are used more, they will become easier. It is excellent! I highly recommend it.
A black polo that I received states it is a Medium 7/8, however, when held up to a white medium 7/8 that I received, it appears quite small. Clearly, there is a mistake in the labeling of the black polo. The exchange was a little bit of a hassle, but Amazon offered to replace the same item for free. It might need better quality assurance on this item because it may not be the right size this time.
This is a good price and worth the money. They are growing so fast that quality does not matter. There is some inferior craftsmanship going on here as these are a bit small. Nonetheless, they produce school uniforms that are of high quality.
