It arrived in the mail without the bow shown in the photo. That was my primary motivation for purchasing it. I'm disappointed.
This skort is fantastic, and I plan to wear it as part of my school uniform. It's soft, has an elastic adjustable waistband, and runs true to size. I ordered the 6Slim for my 6 1/2 year old 1st grade daughter and had to adjust the waist due to her thinness and height. I like the attached shorts because they are a different material than the skirt and don't fit too snug but just right, which we sometimes have trouble with because I have to order a size down due to her thin waist and a skort may be too short. I also like the attached shorts because they are a different material than the skirt and don't fit too snug but just right. The dark khaki color depicted on Amazon is identical to the color that was delivered. A second skirt has been added to my cart, which looks great with the "spirit wear" t-shirt. She'll be able to put on a school-appropriate shirt. Everything will be fine as long as she enjoys it.
The skort does not appear to be as it appears in the photograph. The bow is what drew us to this particular skort. There was no bow on the package when it was delivered. One of my children is extremely dissatisfied. Aside from the lack of a bow, the skort appears to be adequate for her school uniform, but there are many other, less expensive options without a bow. We are coming back.
The item I received was excellent, but it was not the same as the one shown. I was given a solid black twill skirt with front pleats. It has a side zipper and elastic/button extenders on the inside, allowing you to order a size up and grow into it. Everything is fantastic. except for the fact that the item pictured was a black skirt with brightly colored patterns on it.
But there's one thing I'd like to say: If your daughter has long legs, it may be a bit too short. The following is a comparison of a 16-inch French Toast: The waistline is identical (which is good for me because I ordered Nautica and their 16 was smaller), but the length is not.
Because of the fit, I gave it two stars! I really like the skirt, but I would recommend ordering at least one size larger than you need. I bought this for my granddaughter, who has a slim to athletic build and usually wears a size 6 to 7. She can even fit into some size 5 clothes, but the 6X was easily a size and a half too small.
"Closure Type:" says the Product Details section of this skirt, which is why I bought it. Although the description says "pull on," this skirt has a side zipper, which is what I was looking for before ordering because I need a skirt without a zipper closure. I just wanted to let other parents know that the more detailed description mentions a "hidden zipper," but it doesn't say that's the closure, so I just wanted to let them know because I know that not all children can safely use a zipper on their hip after using the restroom at school.
The 8 slim was the perfect fit for her. Although the waist of the skirt could be adjusted, it is shown in the photo as it is. If she so desires, she can tighten it. The material is pleasant to the touch and appears to be long-lasting. The only thing I didn't notice was that the back isn't pleated. A pleated back, in my opinion, would provide a little more space for jumping and playing. I don't think it'll be an issue, but I'll let you know if it prevents her from moving around on the playground. Overall, the skirt is adorable, and my daughter requested a second one right away.
