This pair of shoes was worn on the beach by my 2-year-old all summer. During the summer, we don't even take them off when she is in the water (a lot) and they continue to be in great condition. Each day we spend at least part of it at the beach. Basically, they act like leather boat shoes (docksiders), except that they get a little stiff in the salt water and can withstand it just fine. In this year's Christmas shopping we will buy another pair!

Make sure you're being careful when you buy! You won't find any authentic ones here. In addition to SWS for my daughters, I also own several pair of SWS. There are differences between the authentic pairs of size 13 and the other two as shown in the photos. There is also a difference in the color of the box. Rather than feeling rubbery, the bottom is made of plastic. On the fake ones, the inside of the straps feels more like compressed paper than leather.
I have a daughter who had a pair of these sandals last year and she loved them. Despite washing them several times, even after wearing them all summer, they held up well.
