It is a quality item and the weight of the denim, the stitching and the overall quality is impressive to me. Although it runs quite big, the jumper does not fit quite right. It seems longer than it needs to be, but it will probably work. I was not expecting the width to be as large as it is. I am afraid my granddaughter would look like she is wearing a sack. I would probably order a size smaller than what I normally wear to avoid having a too short skirt. Thus, I am placing it in a pan of very hot water to absorb water, in hopes of shrinking it. Aside from the small scratch marks on each front pocket, the "distressing" also consists of two dark lines across the back. Symmetrical in every way. The photo is nothing like the one in the book. As I research ideas on how to further distress it, I will share them here. DIY videos do not seem to have an end! Using a pair of scissors, sand paper and pumice stone should do the trick. The jumper is just an item of clothing. I don't know.
There was a part of me that really wanted to like that. I really liked the look of it, but the buckle was poor quality. The buckle keeps coming undone. It's a good thing I made my daughter wear shorts underneath. I would have been embarrassed at school, no doubt about it! . . *B. The buckle broke when I was trying to adjust it the second time she wore.
There are only two buttonholes on each shoulder strap to adjust length, but this is a small size. The size 8 dress barely fits my daughter who is very petite. Her size had to be increased by one size in order to fit her correctly.

5 Because it looked so short in the picture, I gave my 7 year old a 9. It would have been better if I had gone down a size. It's loose on her now and there is plenty of room for her to grow into it. simply tightened the straps as far as they would go. She'll be able to wear it for a long time, and the denim is of good weight. The quality of the product exceeded my expectations.
Overall, it is a cute skirt, but the buckles are prone to unbuckling and the fabric is thinner than I had.
I was not able to wear the pants because the size I bought was too small, so I had to change it for a larger one.
