For my 5-year-old daughter, it took 9 months. month- old. This vest is more in the range of an average 18-year-old. month- (It even fit snugly on my three-year-old) year- old! We're torn between returning it and keeping it in the hopes that it will fit next winter. Although the quality appears to be good, the inside lining has a nylon-like feel to it.
It is extremely soft, comfortable, and fashionable, as well as warm and functional. This fleece vest/gillet is fantastic. My 9-month-old granddaughter has already worn it, and it will most likely be worn again next winter. For the future, I ordered a 3T size.
It's incredibly fluffy and soft! It's so adorable. My daughter is two and wears a 2T, but I purchased a 3T in case she needs it next year. It's fantastic!.
The jacket is roomy enough to wear a sweater or other layer underneath, the hat is snug but comfortable against the cold, and the mittens are just right for a toddler.
