I bought a 3T for my two-year-old and it fits perfectly; I had to roll the sleeves slightly due to the arm length, but I purchased the larger size for a reason.
My daughter is a size 7/8 in shoes. We got a size 10 and it's a little snug. Order a size larger.

Playing in a park with woodchips is not a good idea! This (size 8 medium) was purchased for my 5-year-old average-sized boy. It was exactly as expected, with plenty of room for expansion. My 9-year-old boy wears a size 10/12 and can sometimes get away with a size 8 shirtbr> It's soft on the inside (though not the same sherpa on the inside as on the outside), he loves it, and it's super warm. WARNING. However, don't let them play on a playground with wood chips. It came home covered in woodchips from the first daycare where he wore it at school/daycare playground! (Oh, those pesky monkey bars!) (They do not dry out. ) You must remove them, as well as anything else that may have become lodged in it! However, I purchased the navy blue one as well, and after learning our lesson, I no longer wear it in woodchip parks. I can't comment on grass because he hasn't really tumbled around in it since he wore it outside this fall.
I apologize for the inconvenience. This fleece is awful. Do not purchase this item; I purchased two for my daughter. She came home covered in specks of leaves, lint, and other undesirable unknown flecks of life on the first day she wore each just during a school day, and I tried to wash gentle hang dry brush out with no luck. Even after a regular wash and dry cycle, the items don't seem to come out.
This jacket fits well, but because of the material it is made of, it collects EVERYTHING. I spent longer removing leaves and dried grass from the jacket than the child did while wearing it. Even with tape and a toothbrush, the grass and leaves were deeply embedded in the outer fibers of the jacket, making removal difficult. Nothing is hidden on navy.
This pullover is so adorable. It's well-made and thick, with a nice animal print that's hard to come by. However, it is only a pullover and not a full-fledged jacket. as shown in the image There are also two explanations - Full zip is written on the top, but quarter zip is written on the bottom. Quarter zips are more difficult to remove than full zips, and children prefer/need something that is easy to remove. If you don't mind the quarter zip, go for it; otherwise, it's super cute, and who knows, maybe yours will turn out to be a full zip. I'm coming back to you. 😕.
This item comes with a strong recommendation.
I originally purchased one in a size M for an 8-year-old. Full zip was stated in the first description and photo, and the cheetah pattern had a full zip. It was a quarter zip when it arrived. It also runs a little small, so I ordered another in a L, which was also a quarter zip. The description has now been changed to 1/4 zip, but the cheetah image remains full zip. The fleece is lovely and soft, and she adores it; I just wish the pictures and descriptions were identical.
In the winter, this fleece works well as a layering piece, and in the fall, it can be worn alone. Because it's so thick and warm in the spring. Make sure your child does not wear this while rustling in the leaves, as it will cause the leaves to stick and not come out, as many others have said. I followed that advice and have had no problems; I also wash and hang dry the fleece inside out, so I don't know if it shrinks. This sweater is extremely popular among my daughter's friends. Now that winter has arrived and ski season has begun, it has proven to be invaluable. Buy it now with a score of ten out of ten!.
It's summer, and it's currently 86 degrees where I live, but the deal I found on this was too good to pass up. I bought a size larger for my four-year-old daughter and will give it to her for Christmas because she adores sherpas and all things warm. Last winter, she wore the off white one, which was just as warm as her Columbia puffer coat. These are extremely thick and can be worn without a coat in extremely cold climates.
