The ones my son got for Christmas were great. Because he is not even a 2, I ordered a 3. Although my son is not yet 5, getting him the size 3 made me think he could wear them for a long time. However, when I received them, I thought they looked small to me. As a comparison, I ran them against a size 3 van. There was at least half an inch of mismatch between the sizes. Due to their popularity, size 4 shoes were sold out when I attempted to order them, so I gave him these for Christmas, since A small amount of space is available for the foot to grow.
