I should've ordered a medium because it looks great. I'm in between sizes, so I went with the large. I had no idea there was elastic in the back for some extra stretch. I couldn't return it because I needed it for a party. However, it appears to be in good condition. It was also wrinkled due to shipping. br>br> The top two buttons melted off while I was ironing it. Plastic appears to be used for the button backs. When ironing, be careful around the buttons!.

This was purchased in February 2018 for my Steampunk Halloween costume. I begin my costumes early in order to avoid wardrobe issues in October, such as the one presented by this skirt. When I took the package out of the box, it looked exactly like it did on the website. As a result, I didn't put it on until late March. Some of you will understand what I mean when I say that I waited until I had lost all of my holiday weight from 2017. With hindsight being 20/20, this was not the best decision. To make a long story short, I didn't immediately try on the skirt. It was far too late for me to return by the time I realized what had happened. The back bow isn't actually a bow. Although the photo is accurate, mine was sewn incorrectly and did not hang as well as the photo. I had no choice but to take it apart and repair it myself. I'm afraid I don't have any pictures, but buyer beware! After you've purchased your skirt, inspect it and try it on right away. The skirt is fantastic, aside from the crooked stitching on the faux bow: I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the poor craftsmanship. br>br>UPDATE: January 31, 2019: I went out and bought another Large, Black bag. In June 2018, I wore a white striped skirt for the second time, and it was even better. I'm glad I gave it another shot because it worked out perfectly for my Steampunk Halloween costume. The photos don't do it justice, and they're not particularly good photos, but my costume was fantastic and camera-ready. Polyester is a durable, lightweight, and comfortable material. The left side has a hidden zipper, but I didn't use it because the back stretches a lot. I didn't get any pictures because the corset I was wearing covered most of the decorative bow in the back. I'm wearing a Victorian Steampunk underskirt and Fleece Lined Leggings, so the skirt looks a lot fuller. I increased the length to the maximum extent possible. The skirt has a floor-length back. I'm dressed in three different outfits. inch- Boots with a high heel. At the time of the photo, I was 5"3" tall and weighed 140 pounds. The skirt was a little too big on me, but with the blouse tucked in, the Fleece leggings, and the Victorian Steampunk underskirt, the outer skirt fit perfectly. If you're going to layer your clothes like I did, order a size up. With the exception of the boots, I bought everything I'm wearing on Amazon, which I've listed below. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a Victorian/Gothic/Pirate/Steampunk/ skirt; if this had been my first purchase, I would have given it five stars, but it only gets four stars based on my first review. Even though it's a little loose on me, I marked that it fit as expected. However, I'm glad I saw their recommendation to order based on their sizing, because otherwise, I would have ordered a size smaller and this lovely skirt would not have fit. My hopes and expectations for this skirt were completely exceeded. The fabric is of good quality, and the design is far better in person than it appears on the website; I was concerned that the front would be too short, but it covers exactly what I wanted. (By which I mean it comes to a stop just below my knees. ) I didn't want it to happen in the middle of the year. thigh, though I'm sure I could tie it up a little tighter if I wanted to. )br>br>However, it's absolutely perfect; I couldn't be happier. Oh, and on top of that, it's also quite comfortable, especially for the price. It's possible that I'll need to purchase a different style as well.

It's a lengthy review, but it's well worth your time. Okay, I like it a lot, but there are a few things I don't like about it. The color 4 in the seller's photo is not even close to being red. That can be seen in my image, but I forgot to take a picture of it BEFORE I started dyeing the dang thing, and I apologize for that. I was in a "must fix before weekend" mode, and I didn't stop to consider what I was doing. I'm hoping that dying it with synthetic fiber dye will work because the color is very Halloween orange and black. I'm not sure what it's made of, but it certainly isn't a natural fiber. Polyester is what I'm betting on, but I'm not sure. The color is really the only thing that bothers me about it. br>br>In terms of fit, I'm a 2x top, 3x bottom (22pants depending on the cut) and I ordered up because. Isn't that what we big girls do when we order things on the internet? I'm sure I'll be able to make it work, but I should have ordered a 3x instead. Because I didn't realize it had a zipper, I put it on without it, so it has plenty of stretch. I tried it on with a skirt and a petticoat (a crinoline, in my opinion, would be more comfortable) and it fit perfectly. I'm relieved that it isn't too cramped. When looking for items like this, we occasionally run into Asian sizes, resulting in a waste of money. This isn't the case at all. br>br>The back bow isn't really a bow at all. It's made up of two pieces of fabric folded over and sewn together in such a way that the bow's flaps fold over themselves. It does, however, seem to emphasize the bustle effect. Historically, bustles were garments worn with dresses to make the buttocks appear larger; they are not a type of skirt as we know it today. So that's not an issue; in the seller's photo, it just appears to be a bow. You'll need to do some sewing if you want it to be a bow. br>br>Speaking of sewing, I washed it according to the directions on my fabric dye, and I already had to reattach one of the buttons. Again, this isn't a major issue; it's just something to keep in mind. I'm going to a mystery dinner and possibly a convention later in the year. If you're a cosplayer who plans to spend the day at a convention or a fair, and you'll be moving around or carrying things, or if you'll be wearing a corset or belts over it, you'll want to reinforce those buttons. br>br>The dress has a good structure; it's heavy, but that's due to the multiple layers and ruffles down the back. It is not put together in the same way as cheap costume skirts; you may need to adjust it slightly to get the most out of it. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied, but I'm glad I didn't pay much more for it.
