At DragonCon, I used the boa from The Umbrella Academy as part of my Klaus Hargreeves cosplay. It shed minimally on all five days that I wore it, and it was absolutely gorgeous during the entire time I wore it. Although I am not sure how many of you have been to a convention like DragonCon, it has upwards of 85,000 attendees, and there are lots of things to do such as walking, posing, sweating, and just interacting with people in general. In addition to wear and tear, there is a problem with fading. In fact, I don't even need to buy another boa next year because this one has held up so well. This is definitely worth checking out.
I bought 4, braided them together, and sewed them together for one large boa.
They are absolutely beautiful as expected. I read other reviews that they shed, but I had the costume store spray them lightly with hairspray to get rid of this issue, and it worked well for me, the feathers hardly.
It is for Sista Strut, a breast cancer walk that I bought these boas. They received a lot of praise from the ladies. Having fun with them is guaranteed because they're brightly colored. In spite of this, feathers were everywhere! We actually became a bit competitive to see our feathers in the wind when we were flying. Although there were tons of feathers that fell off, it'd get a 5 star rating.
A skit I did required me to buy this. A reasonable price and prompt delivery were the two benefits of purchasing on Prime. As in the advertisement, there is no difference in color. As far as the visual aspects of the skit were concerned, it was okay, however the feathers began to fall immediately. It is not just when it is taken out of its packaging. Not at all! There were a lot of feathers on the floor and on furniture in the room I was in. Small feathers, medium feathers, and full feather chunks covered the room. It wasn't necessary for me to be around them for them to get feathers. The short version is that this is fine if you don't mind the shedding.
In addition to those I had to cut off the strange white ropes at the ends. Returning it would be a waste of time! I urge you not to purchase!.
I should have known better because I found this to be surprisingly affordable. Wearing this feather boa to a "Las Vegas" themed party is as easy as buying it. These colors look great together and can be combined with any outfit. This however does not mean I took it out of the plastic bag and immediately started to tear it. My host's home was covered in feathers as I left a trail of feathers all over the place. I wished I had a Swiffer with me. The counter became a mess of feathers when some people started jokingly piling them up. At the end of the party there were barely any feathers left on the boa. Most of the feathers were on the ground or the counter, so I threw the whole.
The Elton John costume my dog wore for Halloween was made with this material. My dog tried to shake off the feathers, but they held fairly well when I hot glued the rope that was holding it together. The rope was visible, but I cut it off and attached some hot glue to it and it held the feathers on well.
