There is no way to remove the braid. This wig was just too heavy in front, and it was hard to wear for my little girl, due to the "bangs" in the front.
You have a valid point! For her 4th birthday, my daughter got one of these. It conceals the child's hair if the child's hair is pinched up and the wig is worn (and being left alone to do so by the teacher). In this case, if you try to hide the hair with a high ponytail, the wig will not fit properly because it will sit on the child's head unevenly. I know my daughter is frustrated by the fact that it does not stay on her head while she's playing, but overall it works for the outfit- The item delivered on purpose and I would be willing to purchase it

Fibers of this type are beautiful and sparkly. As far as the braid is concerned, it has lasted. Though, from the front I swear those are the locks of some weird country star from the 70's.
