Just ordered a second set. Rounding up to the next size. For my five year old who complains the classroom is cold, I ordered a three pack of thermals for him to wear under his tee-shirts and looser shirts to school. He's very excited to wear them and they are soft and nice to wear. Also, it is nice that they do not have tags. As a result of reading all the reviews about how small the shoe is, I ordered a size 7. 2 months shy of 6 years of age, he's a little under average height and quite slim, so I would estimate he's smaller than most of his peers. Following a wash, the 7s fit well and have a bit of room in case he grows over the winter, but are not so baggy that they don't fit It was the same size that I ordered a second set with, though I think a 6 would have worked as well. It would be a good idea to round up to the next age, and if your child is stocky or tall, you might want to go up two sizes.
My son's age was recommended on the size chart, and I selected the size that was recommended. As soon as I received them, I was pleased with how high quality and thick the cotton was and how strong the thread used for sewing it was. The first reaction I had was to test for shrinkage so I washed one. After the first wash, my initial reaction changed. After the washing, the shirt shrink so much that it just barely covered my son's belly button, although it had been beyond his belly button previously. When I looked at the sewing work, I noticed that it was of extremely high quality. I am very disappointed in the sewing quality! The armhole on one side was significantly larger than the one on the other. The bottom hem of the shirt was also asymetrical. It occurred to me that perhaps it was shrinking in the wash as a result of the washing. Seeing that the other two were brand new and still in the package, had not been washed, had not been worn yet, I looked at them a little more closely. Shirts that have not yet been washed also have sloppy sewing. In any case, I requested a full refund after returning them. The cotton was excellent, and I hate to see it go to waste. There was just something about the tailoring that made it seem like the work was done by a child (being made in China, it really could have been done by a child).

It is a good quality item that has been washed several times and the fabric looks new and hasn't lost its Since they are cotton, I was expecting the shrinkage when I purchased them, but I did not expect the whole thing. AUGUST 2017 UPDATE When I purchased the second pack of these undershirts, they shrank, to the point that my toddler could not wear them anymore, I purchased the same size and washed them like I did with the first pack, and on the first wash, they were as small as they were before. The only thing that stops me from purchasing any more is that I cannot guess whether the clothes will fit after washing them.
I do not agree with these thoughts! Not even a tiny bit of shrinkage or twisting happens to them. Besides being soft and able to sit for hours on end, the shirts do not have scratchy labels on them to aggravate my son. The shoes are worn every day by my husband and I don't have any complaints about them. Though they are slightly more expensive than what I would normally pay, if they can last it will be worth the cost. Should I need more of the same size or another, I would purchase again without a doubt!.
Great quality, run true to size, and the cotton is lovely. They are much softer than I expected, and they are true to size. He is 8 yrs old & weighs about 69 lbs. The quality of these is excellent. No matter how thin or thick it is, it is sufficiently stretchy. It was exactly what I needed. Purchase at least several sizes larger than you think you need. 3T is the size of my child. There was a 5 in my order. This is the perfect fit for him.
