The elastic band has a small seam about 2/3" wide (the width of the elastic band) at the center back (it bothers my kids, but you will probably feel it if you wear it), and two seams that form the back of the seat are about 2" wide. To the right and to the left, from the elastic band down to the bottom, there are 3" off center. There are two flat seams at the shoulders of the garment, so the seams are not discernible when you wear it. No single seam runs down the back of the shirt. Here is what I hope will help
