In regard to his ankle, I wanted something durable that would withstand physical activity and give him some protection. It did not hurt him at all once he started wearing them. There is a good sense of quality about them and they won't suffer from easily wear and tear. They fit great giving him some room because I bought them a 1/2 size bigger than his street shoes.

My son wears a size 3 so I am unhappy with the shoe

This shoe was great but I went for a 3. My son wears a size 3 in regular shoes, so I went for His feet require thin socks, so he finds it extremely hard to wear them over his shoes. Putting it in is a little tricky because he has to bang his foot off something, and once it's in the cleat, it's really hard to get his foot in it.

They fit well and allowed my ten year old daughter to play comfortably. It lasted for the whole season without any issues. I wish they were available in more colors.
