It is a small for a boy of 5 years old. It would have been nice to have bought a medium but I saw a review saying it was equivalent to a 10-inch There would definitely have been a problem with a number of 12.

This item was purchased, and I had to return it or exchange it for a larger size due to their small size. Although the quality has held up in the first wash, it has not held up in the second. It has already started to unravel at the neckline. I predict these will no longer hold up after one more wash and air drying. What a bummer.
