Size 18 months was the right fit for her. I bought my daughter a swim suit that fits nicely with a little room to grow. I like the swim top because it has room and isn't tight and I like the bottoms because they are comfortable. It looks like a very high-quality swimsuit, but she hasn't pooped in it, so I can't review that part. However, she seems to be very pleased with it. This is something I would suggest to my friends who have.
The product is great! Since it is a 2 piece for my daughter, it is both adorable and convenient. Since she isn't learning to be potty trained, I don't have to put her in pullups. She can get dirty inside these bottoms and they hold everything. Snap-on/off bottoms on one side make it easy for her and me to put them on and take them off.
Pants that look like 18-mo are on the small side. I would say this is a size 3T swim diaper that is significantly smaller than other swim diapers from this brand. In addition, the leg holes aren't the same size. One is very small, while the other is about average size I am guessing that the suit I received is just defective, so I will try to get a new one The ordering process.

I know, it's a little annoying, but FIXABLE, and totally COOL. While the straps were longer than what other reviews described, it was a cute swimsuit and my mother can alter it properly, so I ordered anyway. Pink Pineapple swim suit that my daughter loves after her mother shortened the straps. The color of her choice is blue, so I'm glad we were able to work things out. My wife and I own four or five of these suits, all by I Play. Buying more for little brother is also on my shopping list.
We rigged a tie back for the straps and just tied them in the back because the top part fit a little large, so the straps fell down. The fact that it is reusable is awesome. This allows consumers to avoid having to buy swim diapers once and use them again.
It's so great to see our grandaughter in the pool now at the age of 18 months! Swimming diapers in disposable containers were disgusting to her. The BM stayed inside of the swim pants when she had one. I was able to wash out her hair and return her to the pool without any difficulty.
