As soon as it arrived, I was worried it wouldn't do a good job of keeping my daughter dry, but thankfully it was raining heavily the next day, so we decided to test it out. In spite of the hood being rather useless, it blows off in the slightest breeze and is not very well fitted. This coat is smaller than I expected. My daughter is small for her age and I even went up a size to have it be able to be worn longer than I expected. I would have preferred a larger one. My decision would have been different if it had been more expensive. My friend with a young daughter who also liked pink got it, but I ended up giving it to her. A real button is also used on the coat. These buttons are bigger, but can make handling them a bit problematic for a younger child. In order to keep the aesthetic of the shirts, they should've had fancy button tops beneath regular metal buttons. As well as using very thin threads to hold the buttons in place. Due to the fact that this coat is intended for rain, it is impossible for the buttons to have lasted any amount of time. In addition, there's no way I want to have to button up every single button every time she needs to put her coat on or take it off, or require her teachers to do so whenever she plays outside.
