It has been twenty months since I ordered a 4T for my 20 month old daughter who is 28 pounds As a result of the reviews, I ordered a size up. The size of her usual clothing is 3T. Fits just fine with a little room for growth in the 4t. I liked that the shorts had a little more room in the legs compared to other bike shorts we own. Her shorts fell below the knee. This was my reason for giving it 3 stars because I could see through the light pink. As great as these shorts are for spring, I will order more, but I will order the black/grey colors, not the light pink pack. To order one size larger than what you normally wear, I recommend that you do so.
I gave it 4 stars because I was having trouble sizing my daughter, but they seem to be great quality, they are just what we needed for her - they hit just above the knee, they are just what we wanted! In light of the reviews I read, I sized up to 5T, which was a good decision since they fit perfectly (she is normally a size 4T). The ones I got sized up are perfect, love 'em. For larger children I might even size up two sizes. Since my daughter is petite, she might be too big for the size I suggest.
