I don't think it's a big deal. This is the second set of pants we purchased for my three year old who is going to be a conductor for Halloween. Not only can they be worn as costumes, they can also be worn every day. While the colors ran after he played outside in the rain, they not after he washed them. It's not clear to me how that works. I don't know why the white stripes are mostly blue, but my son doesn't seem to care that much and neither do I.
