Questions & Answers
This is the first pair of stride rite shoes that my five-year-old has had issues with. The material is stiffer than crocs, and it rubbed against his feet all day yesterday, causing him to become irritated. When I removed his shoes, I noticed red spots on the inside of his ankle bones on both of his feet. That happened because he wore them barefoot for the first time yesterday, having previously only worn them with socks. I can see why he prefers his crocs to these shoes.
I like how they look, so I'm sure she'd like them. My 2-year-old son does the same thing as her when he takes his shoes off in the car. He also enjoys running through puddles, which is possible with these shoes due to their quick drying properties. br>I hope this information is useful!
They were purchased for my 5-year-old son, who does not have particularly wide feet and has no trouble putting them on by himself. I'm not sure how they'd work with broad feet.
No, I do not believe so. They have no problem playing in the water with my daughter.

My son's feet were irritated by the shoe, which was very cute and the right length. I followed other reviewers' advice and had him wear them around the house with socks to break them in, but he developed a small blister on the top of his foot near where the foot bends on the first day. He wore them in the stroller and carrier the second time with socks on, and they rubbed the backs of his feet behind the ankle red. I believe his feet are a little too wide for these shoes to be comfortable on him. He's 14 months old and wears a size 4 shoe. Regrettably, I had to send them back.
My two boys, ages 2 and 4, are both in their normal sizes, but they are a little tight. If necessary, the straps can be tightened.
My son suffered from excruciating blisters as a result of the experience. I was beginning to believe I had purchased the wrong size, but I know that is not the case. He always complained that they were difficult to put on because they were too tight. I had hoped they would sell these in wide sizes, but they do not. These shoes have a really cool concept. For my two-year-old daughter, they're perfect. These, on the other hand, are a big letdown. On both feet, on both sides, he has massive blisters/open wounds.
The fact that they're also a water shoe is fantastic! My daughter is between the sizes of an 8 and a 9, and the 9 fits her well. I wish they offered half-size options. The opening is a little tight, which is a minor annoyance. I would recommend going up a size if your child is in between sizes; these are a repurchase, and I would recommend them to family and friends. We also have native shoes, which are cute, but the strap on these SR shoes ensures that they stay on in the water. The native shoes don't have a strap and aren't as secure. Both of these characters are adorable. In terms of material, I'd compare them to native shoes. The material used in the SR shoes is a bit thicker. Both with and without socks, we wear them. These are a must-have for any child!.
He did, however, wear them one day, and they. They appear to be at ease, he says. He did, however, wear them one day, and they now appear to be like this! I'm not going to buy anything else. If your child is active and has a hard time breaking in shoes, these are not the shoes for him. For comfort, I give them two stars, and the concept is sound.
My husband and I, on the other hand, were unable to get these on our two-year-old. Her feet are wide, but they aren't particularly easy to open. Many toddler shoes have a wide opening that makes it easy to slip their little foot inside. This is not the case. They don't budge and keep the shoe's exact shape. When you add in the grippy material, it was clear that we weren't going to get her foot in there without a fight. Even if you wear socks. br>We ended up spending more on Keens than we planned, and we're glad we did. VERY USEFUL IN EVERY DAY LIFE.
I love that I can scrub them clean even when they're filthy muddy and they look brand new. I admire her for being able to splash through puddles without getting wet. br>THE ONLY CON is that when she removes them, her feet are usually filthy. But they're always filthy, so I'd rather she wash/scrub her feet in the tub every night and I still have a pair of shoes that look decent!br>These have held up well all summer and into the fall. There are no blisters, and there have been no complaints. This is the second pair; we had a pair last year, and they were almost her only pair of shoes. She wore flip flops every now and then, but they left her with blisters.
Update: 3–5 star rating These are workhorses of a pair of shoes. They got in and stayed for the whole summer. They're filthy now, but they're still in good condition - They're also a pair of ruffians. Next summer, I'll be buying again. Sandals and tennis shoes are awful summer shoes for kids for a variety of reasons. These are the ideal middle ground. br>br>Original review: These appear to be a good fit. My kids are each a half size smaller, but the fit is fine and they look nice; however, they both complain that they hurt. That's something I'm hoping will improve - a period of adjustment The ratings, I believe, are largely inflated. I'm hoping they'll be able to withstand the test of time. I'll keep you updated.
