Questions & Answers

Is it worthwhile to upgrade from the Gear S3?

I went from the S3 frontier to the S4 frontier. I used Samsung to trade in my device, and I'm glad I did. It's a significant improvement, and I purchased my S3 when they were first released, so battery life wasn't great at the time. The watch 3 has a larger, brighter screen, as well as more storage and RAM. I also chose the LTE model. According to what I've read, the 45mm has a longer battery life than the smaller 41mm, but the bluetooth version has a longer battery life than the LTE version. It performs better than the S3 in terms of speed and responsiveness. Definitely a step up

Does it have a good battery life? Have you heard conflicting opinions about it?

I wear mine from work to home for 12 to 16 hours a day and still have plenty of juice left over before recharging. My wife wears the smaller-diameter watch, which she must recharge once a day.

Will I be able to use bluetooth instead of lte if I buy the lte version? Will I be able to use all of the phone functions if I buy the lte version?

Yes, when there isn't a shared data connection from the phone or a wifi network to connect to, LTE kicks in.

Version with 4G technology - On Verizon, it does not work
3/5

UNHAPPY - The Samsung Watch 3 LTE that I purchased from Amazon - Made in Vietnam is not compatible with Verizon. I spoke with a lot of people who were willing to assist me. When performing the set up steps, the EMEI number appears to be incompatible with Verizon for whatever reason, according to the Samsung help desk, Amazon help desk, and Google. Returning the watch to Amazon, I'm guessing Verizon will get the money.

It's a great improvement over the previous generation, but there are a few flaws
5/5

To begin, I'd like to state that I am a huge Samsung fan. My Samsung TV, laptop, tablet, phone, and now the watch are all Samsung products. There's a reason I have it all- They produce high-quality goods. I've switched to them for products whenever possible over the years, and I've never been disappointed. Now it's time to look at your wristwatch. br>br>As the name implies, this is the watch's third (or roughly third) generation. I own all three, and because I'm a techie, I'll keep upgrading them as soon as they're available. ) So, in general, I can say that the watch hasn't lost ground on any of the iconic features, such as the incredible bezel design for controlling menu functions. In my opinion, no other watch from any manufacturer can compare to this design. It's simple, easy to use, and effective. br>br>However, it's not just the device; the app is also fantastic. You can control your device completely either from the watch itself or from the phone app. It's an incredibly well-designed app that's a fantastic addition to this already excellent collection. hardware that is top-notch br>br>Depending on your version, the watch is nearly the same size as the previous generation, but the Gen 3 is much lighter. If you compare the two watches side by side, you'll notice that they're quite different. I did it- The new one has a significantly thinner casing. But by no means am I implying that it is excessively thin. They did, however, do an excellent job of losing weight, as evidenced by the fact that you can tell. As usual, the operating system is excellent- Well-designed and responsive. I haven't noticed a significant performance boost over the previous generation, but only time will tell. br>br>They're great watches, but I'd like to point out a few changes that I didn't think were as beneficial, at least to me. I'll point them out to you, and you can decide whether or not they are important to you. Deal? Let's get down to business! br>br>The watch band: this time, they used a completely different material- leather or a leather-like material I grimaced as soon as I took it in my hands. When compared to the previous generation, they felt HORRENDOUSLY stiff, and I was dreading putting them on. I put it on and was surprised to find that the material had loosen up significantly after only a few hours. I wasn't expecting such a drastic difference; I'm not sure if I'll keep them or replace them, but they're a huge improvement over my first impression. The button's design is as follows: br>br> They went with a more traditional button design, which is fine, but I preferred the previous generation's design. The buttons on the gen 2 were sleek, unobtrusive, and didn't get in the way at all. They were fantastic- As a result, it was difficult for me to say goodbye to them. br>br>A new charger design was released. This isn't always a bad thing, mind you- if it's still compatible with older chargers. However, when I inserted the new watch into my Gen 2 charging station, it refused to recognize it. Although I prefer the new design, it's nice to be able to reuse old accessories when possible. Others may have had a better experience, but that was mine. I will say, however, that the Gen 3 charged incredibly quickly in comparison to the Gen 2. It was around 2050% when I put it on the charger, and it went up to 100% in a VERY short period of time. I didn t track it since it was the initial charge Battery life has also improved, but I'll need to spend some more time on this to get a more accurate picture. br>br>That's all there is to the negatives; as I previously stated, many of you may not be concerned about these issues, but they were the ones that caught my attention. And, of course, I would have preferred that Samsung's watches didn't use a proprietary operating system, because none of the watch faces or apps for the phone are available on the Google Play store. Because the market is smaller, there are fewer apps, watch-related apps, and so forth. Although I've never felt restricted in any way by it, I've seen more faces, etc. on it than you might see on other devices. br>br>I should also mention that, while this device is the version that allows it to function as a standalone cellular device with its own phone number, I haven't included any of that in my review. It's possible that I'll include it in a subsequent update. I'll admit that the speakers and microphone have always surprised me with their quality and performance, especially considering their small size. Samsung is an expert at what they do, and it shows. br>br>And that, my friends, is the verdict. A fantastic watch that has improved in almost every way, but has made some design decisions that some may or may not like in comparison to previous generations, but overall it is a solid upgrade that moves the platform forward. I hope this information assists some of you in making a more informed decision, but I doubt you will be disappointed with your purchase.

This is not a good idea
3/5

Apple's iPhone isn't fully compatible. NFC payments are not supported, there are no maps, and the Samsung wearable app's App Store is a disaster. This is not a good idea. There are better options available for the same price.

Jelly Doughnut, bought new, is now used
3/5

So, I don't have much to say about the watch itself; however, I purchased a new device and expected to receive a new device; instead, I received a used device. br>br>The first picture is what I assume to be someone's Jelly doughnut or some type of fruit spread (I tasted it and it was sweetly sour, kind of like a blackberry). br>br>The second photo shows the fingerprint I discovered on the device when I first opened it, as well as some minor scratches on the screen that aren't visible with my camera.

The 3rd picture is a picture of me putting the watch on the charger literally seconds before only to find out that it had 64% charge already,% 10% charge (I have never received anything with more than 5% but I am being generous here) EVER br>br>If I'd known I'd be getting a used device, I would have gone to Best Buy, where they sell this exact watch for anywhere from $80 to $115 off retail for return items, but I'm trying to help with the pandemic by not going out as much. br>br>Don't get me wrong: I adore this watch, barring a few minor flaws or bugs, but I didn't pay for it secondhand.

My watch was able to connect to Verizon with ease
4/5

It's a piece of cake. I read all of the reviews on Amazon about the LTE version of this watch not working/linking/connecting to Verizon's data plan before purchasing it. Because my cell phone data plan is with Verizon, I was hesitant to purchase this watch from Amazon because of this. But I'm here to tell you that the Amazon LTE version of this watch does indeed work with Verizon's data plan and connects properly. I had no issues or difficulties connecting this watch to my Verizon cell service; all you have to do is use the Samsung Wearable app on your phone to walk you through the process, which took about 5 minutes. That concludes our discussion. I had no need to contact Samsung or Verizon in any way. It was so simple that even a 5-year-old could do it. year- It could be done by anyone, young or old. Obviously, these other reviewers who had trouble connecting to their Verizon cell service data plans either had defective watches or (more likely) did not try to add their watches to their Verizon data plans using the Samsung Wearable app.

It's pricey, but money isn't everything! This timepiece is absolutely stunning! If you have the funds to purchase it but are unsure whether it is worthwhile, go ahead and purchase it
5/5

I won't go into detail because I have more important things to do, but I'm a techie who builds race drones and custom audio/video. I also purchased several custom bands and a tempered glass screen. On so many levels, the device is cool. I'd be interested in seeing a direct tv remote app for this. Bulova, Mavado, and Invicta are among the brands I own. This is my favorite because it has 50k faces and the most advanced smart watch functionality. I purchased this, as well as the Galaxy 20 Plus and Samsung Plus earbuds, and I am very pleased with them. Looking to splurge on Amazon during the covid- Lockdown at the age of 19? You are the target audience for this set-up. However, I purchased the Galaxy 20+ from BestBuy. I'm picky when it comes to purchasing the best products. Yes, I've discovered it.

This is a fantastic watch
5/5

For me, it's a fairly large watch, but it's a lot lighter than the previous Galaxy Watch model. It appears to be lovely. I had to exchange the 45mm for the 41mm after returning the 45mm. Love it!.
