For several months I have been searching for a sturdy metal tripod mount for my cell phone, but I am not particularly pleased with what I have found. While I initially balked at the cost upon seeing this mount, I was glad I purchased it in the end. In addition to being incredibly versatile, sturdy, and modular, it is well designed and sturdy as well. I have also purchased the SmallRig light This is a fantastic game. This setup gives me a nice, steady rig to hold on to if I have big hands. Yes, it's expensive, but it's a rugged, lightweight aluminum mount. As well as being incredibly thoughtfully designed, it is also incredibly easy to use. *Be aware that you may want to look at SmallRig's smaller mounts if you have a smaller phone. Despite this feature being "universal" and working with just about any phone, I think it is better suited to phones with larger screens. This is a Galaxy Note 9 that I use and I love it.

In time, I will try different mounting systems to come up with a solution that will (1) provide me with a stable recording platform, (2) provide some protection for my device when it is hit, and (3) not be too All three of these needs are addressed by the Smallrig system. I like it because there are plenty of threaded holes for attaching it to the ball head I have on hand, and the spring-loaded phone clamp that is built right into the aluminum frame is always firm enough to hold my As the frame is entirely metal, I am also confident that it will be able to withstand a direct hit from a strong outside hitter without cracking or bending like a plastic frame would.
And it also boasts a small frame, so it doesn't add much bulk or weight to all the kit I have to carry to the event site. Its small size also allows me to avoid making it a bigger target on the day of the event. There is only one thing I intend to add to the rig a bolt that can be threaded into the top center hole once the phone has been mounted in the attachment. When the bolt is long enough, it will come in contact with the spring loaded clamp, and it will prevent the phone from accidentally lifting and coming off. It's probably overkill for most people who aren't going to be hurling projectiles at their cameras, but I'm glad to know that this rig has the capability, so this is useful to me.
