Hello Linda,br>You should lie down and place it across your eyes. You can wrap the ribbon "handles" around your ears on both ends, but it's not like a face mask with elastic that stays on while you're sitting.

I was given a lavender eye pillow as a gift and fell in love with it so much that I purchased a second one for myself and two more to give as gifts. The lavender and purple satin scent is ideal for falling asleep or relieving headaches.
Lavender is one of her favorite scents. Although the product performs as expected, she is dissatisfied with the length of time it takes to display whether it is hot or cold.
This is great because it keeps my head warm for a half hour before I have to restart it. It works better than anything else I've tried to relieve a headache.

This is an excellent product; the fabric and construction are of excellent quality, and it is packaged and presented in a cloth bag. The lavender is organic and has a pleasant aroma. It's EXTREMELY RELAXING to pop it in the microwave and heat it up a little. This product, as well as the rest of Victoria's Lavender's line, comes highly recommended. We also purchased their neck wrap and candles, which were both excellent.
