It has to do with the pin, which is known as an "alignment" pin, and how it fits into the hole. It aids in the even distribution of the tweezers on both sides. If the pin fits into the hole, the tweezer sides and tips are properly aligned. If it isn't, it is out of balance and needs to be rebalanced. I like that the cost of acquiring a pair was reasonable. One pair is for grasping tiny tabs for book folding, while the other is for sewing.

I bought two tweezers for one low price and they arrived quickly. I use these tweezers to handle small objects, mostly for hobbies. crafts. The tweezer is the perfect size for your fingers. a good hand To get a firm grip on the object being picked up, only a small amount of force is required. I gave the second set of tweezers to a friend who was having trouble picking up pills and tablets. It's ideal for picking up his prescriptions when he's filling his weekly pill case, he says. I'm not sure how well these tweezers would perform in terms of personal grooming and make-up application. Except for the ridges filed into the tips, which are supposed to provide extra traction when holding thread, these are essentially fine. The ridges, on the other hand, are so large that thread can easily pass right through them! The thread will still pull out no matter how hard you squeeze. To be honest, if they were smooth, it would be better. I'm going to try using industrial strength sandpaper to see if the ridges can be removed.

When it comes to tweezers, the teeth are everything, and these teeth are too rounded/blunt to grab anything. To make matters worse, the teeth on each side of the tweezers don't nest into each other to provide any sort of grip.
This stuff has a strong magnetic attraction to it. These were purchased specifically for doing some fine detail work with silver soldering on small mild steel pieces. So that my strong welding magnets wouldn't magnetize it, I got stainless steel. My old metal tweezers had become so magnetized that they could no longer be used to pick up small objects. You can demagnetize them after each use, but they will still refuse to release even the tiniest of pieces. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no Stainless steel isn't the answer if you need to grab a hot part on occasion. br>br> At the very least, this stainless steel isn't Austenitic in nature. I guess I'll just have to look for better stainless steel.
These tweezers are ideal for a variety of crafts. Small tweezers are difficult to use and see what you're doing, but these things grab perfectly and are long enough to see what you're doing; I use them for sorting seeds, placing beads, and other tasks that I can't do with my fingers. They are fantastic!.
