Obviously, it can be used on a bed, but I would avoid using it on a bed with someone laying face down This is how it feels down there. If the neck is extended to some degree, the person will have severe neck pain. When it's put on a face-up stand, it's supposed to be supported by The jets that come out of a massage table serve as a rest brace. In order for the brace to maintain the neck in a neutral position, it is level with the table.
You will receive the cushion with the velcro attached to the back of it, as shown in the picture. There is no plastic/metal face cradle with the posts, and it does not come with It leans against that face cradle and is held in place by Velcro
It does not appear that the backing is made of wood. Both sides of the Velcro are attached.
Vinyl is used for the material. Just one more comment, the picture is deceptive. It is not an elongated shape, at all. Circular in shape, it has quite a lot of radius. For your information

I use this when my husband massages my back so that I can keep my face off the bed when he does so. To keep my chest elevated properly, I put a pillow under my chest, but it is much easier than having to turn my head sideways.
This pillow was the result of comparing a great deal of pillows before deciding on it. These are perfect. We clean them hundreds of times per day and the material isn't deteriorating. Despite their softness, they are not too soft and are in the right place for you to lay on.
When I bought this for use after vitrectomy eye surgery that requires face down positioning, it was perfect for use.
It would have been nice to give you an "O" star. A hard pleather head rest gave me a crick in my neck and left an indentation/print on my forehead when I put it in sideways. It felt like plastic and pressed against my head when I put it face down. I tried to lie down on it facing upwards and I was unable to do so No head was cradled by it. The doctor elevated my neck instead instead of putting it on A therapeutic massage specialist had me face forward for a traditional massage after I had visited a specialist. After that, I was turned around so I was facing up while I rested on the face rest. That was the best feeling in the world. With the cradle surrounding my head, I was in a comfortable sleeping position. I got on amazon in order to begin my search for the product. She said it was a worthwhile purchase, so I did. Everything I buy comes from Amazon, and their customer service keeps me coming back. This HORRIBLE object was returned to me with a message that said, "Cannot be returned". I did not notice anything stating that I could not return it when I ordered. "Sold by Massage Importers and fulfilled by Amazon" should have read instead. It implies that Amazon is the point person in the event of a problem. The credit card I received after trying to return this item several times was finally given by Amazon after I argued with them for several minutes. It was suggested to donate or dispose of it, according to the lady. The giggle caused me to laugh out loud. That's what I am going to do- What is trash to one person may be treasure to another. I AM NOT KIDDING YOU THAT THIS IS A HORRIBLY HARD HAVEN a material that can be bent or reshaped I found it uncomfortably uncomfortable. As a gift for my girlfriend who enjoys massages, I bought her this product. Since she has a slight kyphosis in her cervical/thoracic region, she always feels tight in the upper body. Besides causing headaches and poor posture, she is prone to getting headaches due to this. She can benefit from a massage to ease that tightness. It seems that most of the techniques I used are from YouTube, but they work Because I don't have a massage table, the face cradle was just placed on top of the bed slightly off the floor. As a result, she is able to breathe while using the face cradle. Besides being very nice, the face cradle is extremely easy to clean. Spilled lotion can be easily wiped up with a quick wipe. It had an unnoticeable smell when I first opened After using it for a month now, I can say that it looks like In my opinion, it will last for a long time.

The same headrest has been with me for the past 12 years, and I also felt that it was The one that I found was so generous and comfortable. It sits a little short on the cradle part, but I was too excited to measure it against my cradle. This is my fault for not measuring properly, I was too excited to find a new face pillow.
You can use it at home for massages to keep your face elevated. However, I find that the Velcro on the bottom do not help much since it is just the soft side of the Velcro and does not come with rough sides to help it adhere to surfaces. Only about two inches of the hole in the face can be seen There are only 3 inches of width on the pillow, and it is about 6 inches across As it's 7 inches in diameter at its thickest point, I find it fits me well. However, someone with a very large head may find it insufficient.
The cushion works well as a face cradle. Provides a solid foundation for the head. The only thing I wish was that the opening for the face would be wider as it would make it easier to breathe Yet the price was less than half of the cost of other brands.
