I bought mine years ago because of the "hype," and while I liked how it handled, I didn't notice a huge difference.br> It just sat nicely against my lid and covered all of my lashes from edge to edge, I believe. It was pleasant to hold and squeeze, and I had no difficulty distinguishing between my right and left hands and eyes. The shape of the curler, as well as how well it fits against YOUR eyelid to pick up lashes, is critical. br>Shu has a softer silicone pad that gives me a softer curved crimp than Shiseido's harder rubber pad, which gives me an acute 90-degree bend. With my Shu curler and Shu pad, I can avoid the three crimp (base, middle, and tip) technique. br>It works well for me because I have shorter stick straight lashes. To get a more stable curl, I used to heat my curlers with my hair dryer. I don't need to heat anything with Shu. The type of mascara (waterproof, watery or dry, fibers or not) and brush shape (comb or bristles) used are also important aspects of the eyelash application. br>Can you tell me what the buzz is about? br>I looked it up on Google and discovered it in InStyle magazine: br> Unlike most in its category, this tool is "easy to hold and fits all eye shapes," according to L. Winner ('13), '12, '11, '10, '09, '05br> Megan Lanoux is a professional makeup artist. And it actually curls lashes (rather than bends or creases). > br>Because we can't find refills for this curler online, we're ordering Shiseido refills from Amazon, which cost the same to ship as the two-pack refill. br>I'd love to hear from someone who has tried the new Shu and Shiseido curlers and can compare them.
This isn't the genuine article. Such a letdown. I shouldn't have squandered my money in the first place!
These aren't originals; they're knock-offs! While it is a functional curler, it is not Shu Uemura's original. I hope you see my response here and understand what it is before placing your order.
I believe it is dependent on the seller who provides the product; fortunately, the one I purchased from, NuBlissful, sent me a curler that was definitely real (I compared it to my old Uemura curler purchased at one of their stores before I threw out the old one) and included a replacement pad.

I've been using the Shu Uemura eye lash curler for 15 years. It was discontinued by Sephora a while ago, and the rubber part on mine ripped last year. I was hesitant to order this one after reading reviews that it was a fake. I'm relieved to learn that it's true. If the rubber part is engraved with "shu uemura," you know it's genuine; if it isn't, you know it's a fake. I adore how beautifully this curler curls my lashes and how long they stay curled!.
It's not a Shu Uemura, to be sure. It's a rip-off that's no better than the eyelash curlers you can buy at the drugstore. I've been using Shu for a long time and have yet to find a genuine one. They don't appear to have been produced in a long time.
I received the curler and used it for about a week before noticing that my eyelashes were stuck to the rubber pad. I double-checked that it was clean before attempting to use it again, but the problem persisted. As a result, I had no choice but to use my replacement pad, which I dislike. The pads should last at least a week, if not longer.
OK - I'll admit that this is the most expensive eyelash curler I've ever purchased. And the images on Amazon make it appear to be identical to any other basic eyelash curler. What makes you think this is the best curler in the world? br>I saw this on another website with a recommendation and decided to check it out on Amazon. I went through a slew of reviews before making my decision. There appear to be some fakes floating around, but I figured that if I got something bad, Amazon would take care of it. Because I've never had one before, the proof would be in the numbers. br>I didn't get any garbage. I'm not bothered by it. Rather than crimping, it CURLS my eyelashes. I'm not sure how it does it, but my eyelashes have never been curled so perfectly and evenly before! This is fantastic! Yes, it appears to be identical to all the others. However, this is not the case. It's truly extraordinary!.
Have you ever gotten back together with an ex only to realize you made a mistake by breaking up with them in the first place? It feels like that every time I use this eyelash curler. I had fond memories of the Shu Uemura eyelash curler, but I gave it up for about 8 years because I couldn't persuade myself that spending more than $20 on an eyelash curler was a good idea. This was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, and I'm so glad I succumbed to the urge to shop. All of the reasons I fell in love with it in the first place flooded back to me. The curler can accommodate even the tiniest lashes on the side of the eye, and it does not strain your wrists or pinch your eyes. It is without a doubt the most effective eyelash curler I've ever used. I've been using the Shiseido for about a year and prefer this to the Shiseido. In general, I've discovered that Shiseido fans can't use/like Shu Uemura, and vice versa. Because the Shu Uemura curler has a deeper curve than the Shiseido, you'll probably prefer it if you have deeper set eyes or double eye lids. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Disappointed to the point of frustration. After reading numerous reviews, I decided to buy this eyelash curler in the hopes of curling my stick straight lashes with ease. I've always had to use my hair dryer to warm up other curlers, so I assumed this would be no different. This is far from the case. In fact, after failing to achieve the desired result with them alone, I decided to simply heat it, something I was told I wouldn't have to do. By the end of a 6-hour work shift, they had completely collapsed, and most of the cheap curlers I've had in the past don't even do that. If your lashes are anything like mine, you'll want to read this. Don't throw your money away.
Terrible. I bought one and was very pleased with it. I bought a second for my mother as a present. She said she didn't like it, and when I compare it to the first one I bought, I see the one from Sold By: JAPAN4U is a completely different animal, and it's a complete disaster! Please do not buy from this seller!.
Everyone who uses an eyelash curler should be familiar with this brand, buy one, and never use another. It's the right shape, feels good in the hand, has a smooth opening and closing motion, and never pinches. It has never pulled out a single lash for me. My lashes also stay curled for a long time. The refill is a welcome addition - Please do not discard it! br>br>With my first Shu Uemura, it's been ten years. It was given to me as a gift by a friend who had purchased it in Europe. There's a reason why the models swear by this product. This one, however, I purchased for my daughter - who is ecstatic about it! br>br>Just keep in mind - After applying mascara, avoid using an eyelash curler. That may result in breakage, which is something no one wants!.
