The ones that come with the clippers are so much inferior to these. Each person mentioned the same reasons, but no one provided any specifics.
Unlike others, I observed that I had an easier time taking these in and out, compared to the full plastics. You will feel the premium feel of the metal click. This plastic is much stronger than the one used in these guides. Although the plastic is thinner, you will notice that they flex less when you play with them. A better haircut means less mistakes, so you will be getting a better cut. There is a big problem with the included guides in that they flex with a minimal change in pressure, producing less accurate This is no problem at all. Like others mentioned, the metal has nothing to do with the sturdiness, but rather is there only to provide aesthetic appeal and as a means to attach them to the clipper. What makes these ones so much better is how much stronger the plastic is. Also, the design is pleasing to the eye. Rather than having a straight end at the top of the guides, there is a little curve pointing up so that you can hold your hair with greater ease, especially when My husband and I are very happy with the purchase.

The premium guards on andis clippers are more durable and feel more premium than what I had on my Wahl clippers. It is still better than the trashy ones that come with the clippers, though, to use the premium guards from Wahl. It seems overpriced to me for just a bit of plastic and some metal to hold things together, but that's just me. Because the regular guards lacked adequate coverage for me, I felt I had no choice but to buy them. It is not my profession to cut hair. Personally, I recommend these for use at home.

They are the same as the ones that came with my Wahl clippers, without any metal parts. It is these two aspects of these that distinguish them from the originals and make them such a big Metal is first applied to the attachment points to reinforce them. When the little plastic tabs that held the guides in place on the clipper head broke, I was unable to use two of the original guides. My main reason for purchasing the current set was due to this reason, and even though I have yet to use the set for years, I don't think the metal clips will break. Another improvement is that the plastic-only versions have a guide number etched into the plastic. This is making it much easier to spot than the one on the metal I have my wife cut my hair a lot, so we make a lot of use of these. There has been a big improvement, and it is well worth the cost.

I would probably buy another one, but I think these will last for a long time. I am very satisfied with them. Clipper guards were unstable and broke when they came with them. Their build quality is excellent and they continue to perform well. I also like the carry case very much since it keeps my items organized as well as prevents.

They are great clips but I have trouble carrying them around with my pro series Wahl. There is no lid or locking mechanism on the case, so the clips tend to fall out very easily. I have to spend time every time I move them to sort and place them back in their proper place. Although the clips themselves work perfectly, the quality is The clippers offer a range of sizes not included in the base set. This is a much better option than the standard plastic clips that come with the Wahl unit. The overall rating is still positive, but if you're traveling with them prepare for them to fall out as you travel. It would be nice if there was a size smaller included, but if you have the originals, then that should be fine.

Metal clips and open and closed blade adjustments help make this a high quality set of hair cutting guides to cut most short hairstyles. Because I am not a trained barber, I liked having a couple extra guides that weren't offered in this set to help me achieve the military style cut I wanted.
