My two original Caboodles from the 1990s are still in my possession. While nothing will ever be quite as good as the original, I believe these are decent reproduction cases for the money. br> I wrote this review primarily to address what I assume are some quality control issues I've noticed. I've purchased a number of the On-Demand products. the- Now you can get Vintage Cases from Amazon and Urban Outfitters. Several of Amazon's larger cases have arrived with significant scratches on both the top and bottom. This large black and white case arrived yesterday, and the handle is already filthy and appears to have been splattered with something. I had the same problems with the Urban Outfitters cases I received. Straight out of the box, some of the handles were filthy, scratched, and worn. They almost appear to have been used, or at the very least to have been handled a lot, or to have been improperly stored. I'll admit that I'm picky about what I buy and receive, especially online, but I believe you'll be disappointed or annoyed if you expect to receive really nice-looking merchandise, such as a gift, in these cases. If these were more than $17, I don't think they'd be worth it, especially considering the state in which some of them arrived. I have other brand new Caboodles cases from Amazon where the plastic is already slightly warped and the case doesn't line up on one side; I just feel like these issues have been occurring far too frequently, and I wanted to bring it up here so that someone would notice. br>I don't recall my original Caboodles cases being scented on the inside, but the plastic used for these reproduction cases does have a pleasant scent. br>Hopefully, I'll be able to get my original Caboodles out of the basement soon and post some comparison photos.
Lol. My mother had an original cute colorful Caboodles box to store her jewelry in when I was a kid, and I remember her having it. That box has always appealed to me, and I have always enjoyed poking around inside it! I'm drawn to bright, vibrant colors, and I needed a secure makeup container for my messy makeup, so I went on the hunt for my own Caboodles box. I wasn't sure if Caboodles boxes were still manufactured, but I'm glad I looked on Amazon because the price was reasonable, and these Caboodles boxes aren't as expensive as the original vintage Caboodles boxes. I've seen vintage Caboodles boxes sell for a lot of money, and I'd like to get my hands on an original vintage Caboodles box someday. I got the Caboodles in black and pink, and it's a really cute, sturdy makeup case for storing a lot of makeup! Although this is not a vintage Caboodles box, it is a nice replica of the original. It's a lot like that. I like the bright, vibrant colors, and I like that it comes with a handy mirror that folds away for easy storage. I also like how easy it is to open and close the box with the front latch; which is spelled out in the cute original classic Caboodles shape letters with the word "LOVE" spelled out in the cute original classic Caboodles shape letters I've carried the box with the handle to and from the bathroom so far, and it appears to be quite sturdy. To give you an idea of what's in my Caboodles box, there are hair elastics, numerous hair clips, an Olay daytime SPF 15 face cream, a large eye shadow palette, a lot of Covergirl broken up powder compact cases, a powder brush, new unopened makeup still in the case, some broken up blushes, toenail clippers, two nail polish bottles, and so on. It's quite a list, to be honest. It's big enough to hold a lot, and the makeup isn't all over the place anymore, so my bathroom isn't as messy! I'm satisfied with my purchase in general. This is a box that I highly recommend.
Since I bought this Caboodle last week, Amazon has updated the image. On the black and white Caboodle, the picture made it appear to have a lovely salmon/pink handle. It now displays an accurate image, but I was disappointed when I opened the box to discover it was red instead of blue. There were also black smudges on the lid, as well as scrapes around the edges. I decided to keep it anyway because I figured it would get scuffed eventually and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it. In terms of quality, it appears to be quite sturdy, and I can fit quite a bit of makeup in it.
If you're anything like me, you've found yourself in a dystopian hellscape with a slew of face masks and accessories and no place to put them: br>br>I have eight reusable masks, a dozen clamshell carrying cases, hundreds of filters, and peeper keepers to keep my glasses from falling off my head when wearing masks with ear loops. br>br>I used to have all of these things piled on top of a dresser, but they're now neatly organized inside this caboodle. It holds everything I need it to hold, and I have the impression that my belongings will be kept more sanitary while being stored. (It's worth noting that I could only fit eight carrying cases, but I only have eight masks, so it's all good. ) )br>br>It looks exactly like something I had when I was a kid in the mid-'80s, which is an added bonus for me.
This is not the picture that was delivered to my house. It depicts and describes a hot pink/black two-tone product, but the product that appeared was a solid light pink caboodle. / This is why I gave it two stars because you never know what you're going to get. I would have been able to choose my color options if I had purchased in a store, so this isn't a bait and switch situation.
This version is less sturdy and durable than one of the originals. In my opinion, the plastic is flimsier and thinner. But, on the whole, I was blown away. I think it's a great design that can hold a lot of makeup (or whatever else you want to put in it). My only wish would be for it to be larger. I thought I had purchased the largest one, but I may have been mistaken. I'm not sure what I'm going to say! I really like the colors and the retro design - It's not bad at all!.
