I wouldn't imagine your standard medicine cabinet is wide. It may be long, but it is not wide enough as a medicine cabinet. On my vanity table, I keep mine in a drawer.

I thought this item was high quality and it may work for some who wish to store liquid lipstick or lip glosses in a taller tube. UPDATE I'm returning this and will be ordering a different brand. A new order was placed and the correct item has been sent. Is what is described and works good, though when I put my lipsticks in it, I wish it was just slightly taller to avoid a few of them tipping over.
It is a beautiful thing! Although I am disappointed it won't be on display at Nordstroms, I do intend to keep it in my bathroom drawer. The organizer does not hold my lipsticks tightly, except for a square one, and it wobbles a little, but it does its job well. Vanity might be a good place for a visible display.
A couple of weeks ago, I got the lipstick organizer and, recently, I ordered There's a great deal of weight to it, which I like, and it feels sturdy and I know I'll be able to use it for years to come. It's an ideal size for lipsticks, and I can fit a few side by side in my vanity drawer.

I wish I had the option to purchase the solid black version Shipped very fast in a package that was not bulky or wasteful, and was very light weight.
