Hawaii is not an acceptable place to use the product. Despite the fact that the title of the product is "reef friendly" and it is "safe for use near natural reefs", all of the active ingredients listed on the back of the bottle are explicitly NOT reef safe in the state of Hawaii. It is possible that you are harming our ecosystems unintentionally if you use this sunscreen in places aside from a pool. In lakes and rivers the chemicals in sunscreens like this may be fine, but not in the oceans where the bleaching effects of these chemicals are killing our coral reefs. It feels like a criminal act to put "reef safe" on the label or heading of the product when it clearly isn't! In fact, even if I didn't care about that (which I do), Hawaii and many other places have banned the use of these chemicals. The picture on one of the boxes said it was reef safe, so I purchased it. A website indicates that one of the ingredients in the bottle is not reef safe, but nowhere on the bottle does the product say it is It appears that Amazon has removed the reef safe picture from their website, so that false advertising seems to have been corrected. A few spots of my body got burned when I used this in an area where it definitely was Since it dries so fast, it can be hard to tell where you applied and where you did not apply it.
