I was disappointed with this primer because I could tell it wouldn't do its job as soon as I applied it. It felt slimy on my face, but I wanted to give it a chance, so I went back to applying makeup. My face glistened and I appeared to be sweating less than three hours later, so I had to blot. Even though I only use a thin layer of medium coverage foundation and powder, it makes my makeup look cakey. I wanted to try something different because I usually use Rimmel Stay Matte primer, which I really enjoy. I'd heard nothing but good things about this Elf primer. I'm afraid I'll have to stick to my old habits.
I wanted to dabble in make-up more, but I'd never used primer before. I was recommended this brand's eye primer by a friend, but I ended up purchasing this one instead. I was hoping to get the eye primer, but I'm not disappointed with what I got. My skin is clear and doesn't get oily, so I don't use much foundation or concealer. I can't complain because it worked well as an eyeshadow primer! Here are a few of the looks I've created with it so far: br>br>con: Please accept my apologies for some of my more interesting photographs br>br> I do not recommend this product to those with oily skin because it feels very wet and greasy.
It isn't the best primer I've ever used, but it isn't bad either. I apply the Elizabeth Mott Thank You Later primer first, then the Elf on top, for a smooth, flawless finish. If I don't, the Elf will fill my pores with white stuff, giving the appearance of whiteheads.
To scoop up the product, which is similar to a heavy clay/cream, you'll need a small spatula. I work in a humid room and live in a very hot, dry desert. The swamp cooler is turned on, making it hot and stuffy. After hearing great things about this primer from an Instagram influencer, I decided to give it a shot. Because it applies like a thick chunky cream, only a small amount is required. Overall, the primer does not perform as well as the primer I purchased from a department store. I had hoped that this would work as well, but it doesn't. Within two days, my face and make-up had failed. I worked for three hours. My make-up had separated and I was gleaming and oily. I'm extremely dissatisfied because I had high expectations for this primer.
I recently resumed working at the office and am required to wear a mask in public areas. My cheeks and nose were becoming extremely oily, and I had to powder throughout the day due to the mask rubbing off some makeup. I didn't want to use a matte foundation, so I looked into matte primers instead. I really like the regular Elf Poreless Putty Primer, so I decided to try this one out as well. It applies similarly silky and provides similar pore coverage, but man, does it last longer. My mask comes off with a lot less make-up on it. It also helps to keep the oil at bay all day.
Because I have oily skin, this has been extremely helpful in keeping my makeup in place. I used to use the Elf Putty Primer, but it didn't work for my skin type. As a result, I'm relieved to have discovered the matte!.
I love this product because I have combination skin, which means my face gets dry and my T-zone gets oily. The area becomes greasy and gleaming. I haven't used foundation in a long time. Because I've been wearing a mask all day, I've been wearing powder. Even after wearing a mask for hours, putting this on my nose keeps the shininess at bay. Definitely recommend!.
I tried this primer and went back to square one because it didn't mattify my skin at all! I began with it in the morning, and by lunchtime, I had transformed into a greaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee By the way, I'm in an air-conditioned office smh ughhhh.
