Talc is not the same as talc. Starch powder is made from Corn Starch. Talc is not what is being described here. As I know there is an epidemic of talcum powder scares today, so this product is a corn starch, no longer talcum powder. The way it is is not to my liking. I developed a sensitivity to it and it causes me to scratch. It's heavy, doesn't apply evenly, and I don't like the way it feels. Due to its lack of quality, I will not repurchase. As well, I am not sure if there is a viable alternative. I am sorry for your loss.

Despite the description on the product page that plainly states this product contains fine talc, it was not until I opened the package that I noticed the fine print on the container that I learned it contained talc. TALC is NOT listed as an ingredient in this product. In place of corn starch, it features cornstarch first on the ingredient list. A lot of people use zinc or other mineral products to prevent fungal or bacterial infections like athlete's foot with talcum powder. It is likely that corn starch feeds fungal and bacterial infections as well.
