There might be a faulty item and I'd like to exchange it. As for mine, I have had it for a few months and not one of my babies has done that, and we have played with it in the diaper bag as well, and no one has pushed it in.
In terms of how much hair she has, I think that it would work just fine for a 2 year old. My daughter is 11 months old and has a good amount of hair on her head (we are Greek), and we use it every time she gets out of the bath to keep her hair looking Although the brush is a bit small, she might be able to practice brushing her hair with it. A two year old with fine hair is not able to brush her hair well with the bristles. There is no real way to pass through the hair since they bend.
This brush has worked great for brushing her after baths, and it doesn't seem to hurt her at all while I do it. Playing with it and seeing the fun designs are other things she likes doing with Her favorite part of the brush is that is small enough for her to hold and "brush her own hair".
