It is never a good idea to dry curly hair. Brush curly hair when wet and use a leave-in conditioner or moisturizer to give it some slip so that it won't be as rough with your brush as it is when it is dry. In addition to being mixed race, I only wash my hair once a week and brush it out twice a week. To brush my hair, I use a spray bottle that has water and conditioner in it. I fully saturate my hair with this mixture then brush upwards from the ends. It requires less manipulation for curly hair to behave well, so the less stress you put on it the better.
My hair doesn't like the Wet Brush, and I disagree with others who claim the brush is easier to use. Having fine, long, and a lot of hair is the most common feature of my hair. The wet brush can get rid of tangles, but it can take two hours or more. Furthermore, you will have very little hair left after it is done. However, even though it pulls less than this brush, I was able to get rid of all of my significant tangles in less than an hour and with minimal hair lost.

The brush is my new favorite, to the point that I use it every day. I have mostly 4a hair with a touch of 3C here and there, but my hair is definitely in the kinky category, which is why the brush is wonderful. You can use it either on wet or dry hair, as long as you have some product in it first. My usual wet method is to use oil and leave in conditioner and then I'm able to glide it right through without any problems. When I do a pre-shampoo, I normally just use oil, since my hair tends to get dry Despite the fact that it keeps flowing, I am now working root to tip more carefully than before. Some people are struggling with this brush because they don't know how to ensure you brush your hair carefully from Root to Tip, and to use a product to add extra slip to the brush when brushing.
I really like it. It's always a concern of mine when these products come out. As they state in their sales pitch, "You're mad, your kids are crying, everyone is miserable, and now you have to run late. ". Everything would be better if it could be removed. It is always a bit skeptical to buy products that claim to "glide through," but I think this brush actually does that! My hair is very kinky and coily and this brush makes it easy for it to pass through my hair Detangling brushes are hard to find these days, so this is the perfect product for me. For the caveat in design, it is minus one. will not lie to you, the brush does indeed work. There are a couple of caveats I would like to point out, the biggest of which is its handle design (or lack thereof) and its As a natural with 4c coily hair, I know that most times if you want to detangle (especially those of us on the 3/4c spectrum) you have to use wet hair moisturizing products or oil moisturizing products (never on tried I find the grip to be the main problem (and according to some others who had reviewed the product previously as well), as there is hardly any grip and the design is very flimsy. There is no sensation at all when I wet/add some sort of 'slipping' to my hair to detangle. Almost as if I have to hold the brush at the head just to (only slightly) get a better grip on it. It's a good brush though, and I'd hope that any future brush releases could incorporate more traditional brush patterns.
