This helps me to smooth out my frizz. While I might not be completely gray, there are definitely a few gray spots and it works well for me. Considering how much gray your hair has and how it is textured, I guess it will depend on how much gray you have.
Yes, I put the mousse in first, dry my hair, and then put the serum on and it makes my hair very shiny, and I love the feeling it gives me.
Differences in hair texture can be seen. The purple is for thick/coarse hair. This is for fine to medium textures the pink is for coarse to thick.

A small drop rubbed between my palms or even a small drop was too much for my medium length hair with this thick serum. The smell is lovely (like perfume, not like clean soap).
