The neck closure was excellent, and it was small enough to fit my three-year-old's neck snugly. The hair, on the other hand, was extremely clingy and stuck to the cape. That does not make me happy. The quality and design are both excellent. However, it was docked points due to the hair clinging. That defeats the purpose of having a simple cleanup.
Even with a roller and a vacuum attachment, I couldn't get it off. Hair should be able to brush off something like this with relative ease. I gave it back to her.

The space print was one of his favorites. He watched his hair fall into his covered lap with caution, but he found it amusing to knock it off onto the floor or onto us! It didn't matter how much of a shambles we made because we got it done in the end. We simplified the situation for him. br>br>As he grows, we'll definitely consider getting more, or perhaps just a different print so he can choose something new.
I'm a cheapskate, so when I found out how much my husband was paying for bad haircuts, I bought a pair of clippers and told him I could do at least that well and get better with practice (I already cut my own hair). He insisted on a cape, so I found this one. The velcro around the neck makes it easy to size to him as well as a child, so we haven't had any issues. We'll keep using it as long as it's still available.
Wearing the capes gives them super powers that repel hair from their skin and keep pokey tickley hair clippings from making them itchy and uncomfortable, which is a small but significant concession for children who are afraid of haircuts.
I use it with three boys, ages three and six. Each of them can easily adjust the Velcro neck closure for a close fit. My boys sit cross-legged on the bathroom vanity, and their hair collects in a pile on the cape, making it super easy to clean. I can pick up the majority of the hair and toss it in the trash. It appears to be of comparable quality to that which is used at the barbershop.
I haven't used it for hair cutting yet, but I have used it for hair coloring, and it has done a good job of protecting my clothes. The neck opening has just the right amount of velcro to fit small necks (I tested it on a 12-year-old boy), but it can also comfortably fit around my neck (I'm 5'5" and weigh around 170 pounds).
It has the advantage of reducing the amount of time spent cleaning the floor, but that is not the point! After cutting my son's hair, I have a hard time (and dislike) cleaning it. Cleaning it takes nearly as much time as cutting his hair.
