These are smaller than I expected, but that's probably due to my failure to read the measurements. I have very long hair, and I require every inch of the larger 5. I have a collection of 5" clips. These are more compact, appear to be more durable, and have a matt finish that I like. My hair is kept in place by them. ALMOST. However, it isn't particularly safe. I would definitely recommend these for short to medium hair, but not super long hair like mine, and I'm giving them a 5 star rating because it's my fault that I didn't read the size chart and they're too small for me. They seem to be an excellent clip.
