Unless you're only putting up the top half of your hair, it shouldn't be too thick. My hair is thick and long, and it didn't hold it all. It holds everything together if I tie it up in a tight bun and clamp it from the side, but it won't hold if I twist it. It has a good grip and holds my hair well, but it isn't strong enough to hold all of my hair. They're also a tad too heavy, especially when you consider the hair's weight.

They're made of heavy metal and are extremely durable. Each one was individually wrapped and came in a nice little box. A nice little bag to hold all the clips was also included, which was a nice surprise. The pictures show the largest and smallest clips. The smallest clip is also the widest, and the only one that can hold all of my hair up as shown in the photo. With my hair half up, the other clips look stunning. My hair is thick and curly, and I'm having trouble finding cute clips to keep it in place. This was exactly what I needed.
