My impression is that it would be fine to use on your 6 year old since it was described in the box as low odor, safe for skin, natural resin and 9 toxin-free gel. However, the warning does stress that you should stop using it if you have any adverse reactions (which are rare). The stuff has worked so well for me when applied correctly that I have over 100 bottles of it. There are several brands available and you usually have to pay a few bucks for a bottle, which is so cheap when compared to what you see from the bigger brands.
