There are very fine particles in this The fabric feels almost silky to the touch when you rub it between your fingers. As long as your nails are glued down, it will have a slightly gritty feeling but can be buffed to make it smooth. The polish is applied well enough that I don't even notice it once it's applied. When a window slammed on the nail bed of my finger, I suffered an injury. A purple bruise appeared on my subungual area. Only a few hours later did I notice the pain and how bad it looked.
