The tag states that it cannot be washed in a machine as of September 2020, but I tried it anyway, using the cold washer settings. The blanket did not fare well in the spin cycle, and it emerged drenched and dripping wet. However, I hung it to dry on my drying rack, and it took about 18 hours to dry.
I'm not sure what "a lot" refers to. If you want extra-thick padding, as if you were sleeping on a thick comforter, this is the option for you. Then no, this is not going to live up to your expectations. However, I own one of these blankets and recently purchased another for a close friend. I have two children (both under the age of five)- This blanket is ALWAYS in our car as a family- It's been to softball games, picnics, birthday parties, the beach, the park, and anywhere else you can think of. It's a breeze to clean! It takes no more than 10 seconds to unfold and fold. awesome shoulder strap that makes it super portable and can be worn for hours in the scorching sun-- It'll never get hot in here. Like a breeze, sand blows off of it. spills and water are not absorbed! It's the ideal blanket for lounging outside! Ours is almost five years old (I registered for it when I was expecting my first child), and it is without a doubt one of the best gifts I could have received. The girlfriend for whom I recently purchased this blanket is a beach bum (she doesn't have any children)- She's already used it a few times and can't say enough good things about it. She has thanked me a million times and plans to purchase more as gifts for others! It was well worth the money! Take a chance!
Sure thing! There are, however, baby beach tents that provide shade that you might want to think about.

The inner fabric is all bunched up, and the stitching needs to be improved. The size I chose was 7x5. br>Pros:

- The sizing on the one I received is slightly off (by a few inches); it should be 82in x 56in. 5in.
- The top and bottom layers are not fused together. Because it's a few inches away from the fabric, it's a little loose, wrinkly, and all over the place (see photos). I wish they had stitched it more tightly so that the top was more flat and smooth.
- It bothers me that the fabric in the second layer is all bunched up in several places, making it a little bumpy and uncomfortable. I purchased this to replace my first JJ Cole outdoor blanket, which I had misplaced, and I am extremely disappointed. Clearly, they've made a negative change to the design. It was much thicker and stiffer than this one when I bought it in 2010, and it folded much cleaner and easier. I'll keep using it, but I'm disappointed with how the quality has deteriorated.
I bought this JJ Cole blanket in the 5x5 size from Amazon in 2014 and it's still one of my favorites- It's still looking great after eight years! It was the ideal size for a family of three and then four, but now that we have a new baby, it is too small for us and the older kids! br>I was ecstatic to see that this blanket was still available, so I purchased the larger size. Unfortunately, the top material has changed, and it no longer lies flat against the bottom layer, moves around a lot, and doesn't wipe down as well as the previous version. It also sticks to you on hot days, making it a poor choice for the beach, where we prefer the previous one. It's still a wonderful blanket, but I wish it was identical to the previous model.
We were attending free forest school twice a week (highly recommend) and needed a blanket for sitting on during group time. I originally purchased a larger blanket, but it had polar fleece on top and would be uncomfortable in the Texas heat, so I returned it and replaced it with this one because another mom had it. It appeals to me greatly. It's water-resistant, easy to clean, and the fabric will keep you cool in Texas. When folded, it's slightly padded and not too bulky. My husband doesn't mind sitting on it or carrying it because the pattern is neutral.
This was my third attempt to order this blanket, and it was not only defective, but it was the same defective blanket that I had previously returned! It has the same hole in the same spot, as well as the same defective layers in the same spots. Take a look at the images attached. Those white lines aren't creases; they're bunched up fabric beneath the top layer that can't be smoothed out due to the blanket's stitching. When you run your hand over the bunching, it creates visible ridges that you can feel. I also know it was the same blanket I returned because the plastic packaging was torn and I left the top handle unbuttoned so I could easily re-package it in cardboard. Why is it that this blanket is being resent? When I submitted the return request, I made it clear that it was defective, and the other replacement I received had the same issues with bunching and crooked stitching! I was looking for a cute and practical outdoor blanket, but the quality control was lacking. This product and company are not ones I would recommend.
This blanket was purchased so that I could take my dog to parks and not have to worry about grass, dirt, water, and other such things. I've been working on it, and holy cow, it's incredible! It's made of a thick, long-lasting material that's also very soft on top! It folds up quickly and can be shook off in a matter of seconds. It has a carrying strap and pockets on the back to carry items if needed once folded, making it extremely convenient to carry around. THIS WAS A FANTASTIC BUY! I'm thinking about getting a second one just in case this one breaks. I would strongly suggest it.
It has a purpose. This was helpful during a recent beach vacation. It was fantastic, easy to shake out at the end of the day and not as heavy as a towel when soaked in sand. We also used it for a jazz night in the park, where everyone could sit on it. This is fantastic! When you're on the ground, it keeps you from getting dirty or wet. It has a great design, with a built-in folding structure and velcro to keep it together, as well as a carrying strap. They must have considered everything! I can think of a lot of scenarios that could be used in the future. This was an excellent purchase.
