JJ Cole Outdoor Blanket, Blue Orbit, 5' x 5'

To decide which one I would keep, I bought the grey/red 5x7' blanket and the Skip Hop 5x5' blanket. In every way, this JJ Cole blanket is far superior! br>br>Size: This one's larger size is ideal for two adults to stretch out and nap, which is the ideal activity after a nice picnic. ) The Skip Hop one is only good for two people. It takes three people to sit cross-legged on it for an hour or more, which isn't very comfortable. br>br>Durability: br>br>Affordability: br>br>Afford They're both water-resistant. A tarp is included with the Skip Hop one. It has a similar texture to the JJ Cole one, so it may appear to be more waterproof, but I had no trouble with dampness soaking through the JJ Cole one. I didn't even test the Skip Hop one outside because the material and size were already off-putting to me. br>br>Packability: br>br>Packability: br>br>Packability: Seamlines in the JJ Cole version make packing a breeze. It also has a cardboard insert on one end to help keep the shape while packing it. Because of its smaller size, the Skip Hop one is also easier to pack and more compact. br>br>Softness: The JJ Cole blanket has a soft, slippery surface on the inside, making it very comfortable to lay out on. When compared to Skip Hop, who uses a tarp to protect himself from the elements, this is a significant difference. When you move around, it makes a crinkly sound, similar to the large blue IKEA bags. br>br>It has an odor to it. br>br>It has an odor to it. There was no odor from either of them. I'd read some of the previous reviews where people complained about JJ Cole's smell, but mine was fine, and I have a sensitive nose. br>br>In light of all of these considerations, I decided to return the Skip Hop blanket in favor of the JJ Cole blanket. Our blanket has survived outdoor picnics, half-day parades, cool evening grass while watching fireworks, muddy days on the pizza farm, tuna spills, bubble solution spills, vomit, urine, dirt, mud, multiple types of beverages, sunscreen, and more! br>br>This blanket has seen a lot of use over the years and has held up admirably. There are no rips or tears in the stitching, and the handle shows no signs of deterioration. I'm so glad it's machine washable because it's been in desperate need of a wash. It dries fairly quickly when we hang it to dry. br>br>This is not a "blanket" in the sense that it does not provide warmth and would be difficult to wrap around your body. It's great for keeping you dry while you're sitting (as long as you don't try to set it over a puddle or something), and it's also simple to clean and wipe off. You can feel the coolness through the blanket if you place it on cold ground and then sit down. br>br>How is this superior to simply using a blanket? It's a hundred times better than a regular blanket when it comes to water resistance! Not only because of the water resistance, but also because you won't end up with a blanket full of grass clippings, burrs, or crumbs, or a soaking wet blanket that you'll have to transport home. If something spills on it, I can simply pick it up, shake it off, fold it up, and wash it at home without having to worry about filling up my car or myself with whatever is stuck on it. For things like mud, I'll sometimes use a baby wipe or a paper towel, but most things will just shake off. This also means you won't have to wash it as frequently as you would with a regular blanket because most messes will simply shake off. Because of the weight, this is also a better option. Because it's heavier than a regular blanket, it won't blow away if no one is sitting on it on a windy day. However, our children fight over who gets to carry the blanket, so you can rest assured that it isn't too heavy. We'd spent thirty dollars on a thirty-year-old car. There was another outdoor blanket, but it was much smaller and lighter, and it kept flying up even when people sat on it (you had to sit on the edge). br>br>The 5' x 5' size has been found to work well for two adults and a child, or one adult and two children. It's a little tight for a picnic with two adults and two children, but it's fine for watching a parade or a softball game. There is also a larger version of this blanket. This outdoor blanket is preferable to a Thirty-One blanket. On any given day, I'd rather have one outdoor blanket than a regular blanket. Even if you only used it a few times a year, it would be worthwhile!.

I looked into a few different outdoor blankets before deciding on this one, and I am very pleased with it. It's a lot bigger, thicker, and more durable than I anticipated. It's easy to fold up thanks to a rectangular cardboard insert and directional stitching. The Velcro closure and adjustable carrying strap make this bag extremely practical. I'm sure the outer pocket will be useful as well, but I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. It was the material that drew me to this blanket in the first place. Something that could be washed was important to me. This won't need to be washed because it can be cleaned with a damp rag or disinfectant wipe; I haven't had to do so yet. It isn't fluffy or soft, so it won't pill and stick to my clothes when I stand up. It is safe to stand, walk, and dance on because it is not slippery smooth. I'm not made of plastic in any way. so it won't make you sweat or stick to your hot skin It's absolutely perfect. It's also adorably adorable. I'd like to purchase one for everyone I know who enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. Because it's reasonably priced, I intend to give a few of them as gifts. I would strongly suggest it! ***edit*** I used this blanket again, but this time at an outdoor concert on a hot and humid 90-degree day. Under the sun, the material grew unbearably hot. It was scorching hot, like the bottoms of your feet were on fire. That was a real disappointment. Later, when it rained heavily, we were able to use the blanket as a waterproof shield, so it was partially redeemable. I had to deduct a star because this blanket is uncomfortable to sit or lay on in direct sunlight in the summer.
