My winter has been made so much more enjoyable because of you. This product was so comfortable that one of our hikes ended with my son falling asleep!.
My pack is shown in the first two photos. My husband's pack is shown in the second and third photos. The only thing I don't like about his pack is that his sun visor hat zips right into the top of it, whereas mine is detachable and must be bent and shaped in the right way to fit into a velcrowed department underneath one of the storage units. br>br>The only thing I don't like about mine is that his sun visor hat zips right into the top of the pack, whereas mine is detachable and must be bent and Instead of being used for the sun visor, I'd like to use that unit to store my personal belongings. Also, when I stored my sun visor the last time, it got bent the wrong way on one of the sides, and I had to reshape it when I went to use it the next time; it didn't reshape perfectly, but it was usable. I'd rather have a zipper hold the sun visor in place than velcro because velcro will get dirty over time and won't hold the visor in place as well, if at all. The following are the reasons why I chose my pack over my husband's: My weight was 1 pound less, and since I'm a girl, that's a big deal. Obviously, I needed a more appealing color as well; )br>br>Backpack clips are also cheap (in my opinion), but they're the same type of clips that are on my husband's pack. It's just flimsy plastic that's cheap and light. They're nice, according to my husband, but only time will tell how long they'll last.
We like it, but we aren't completely enamored with it just yet. So, because this is my first carrier, I have nothing to compare it to. My toddler is one and a half years old. For her age, she is tall and slim. It's her mother, not me, who gives her that. I'm tall and chubby, to put it that way. Anyway, in search of ways to spend more time outside during COVID, we purchased this for some hikes. We've used it a few times now, and our toddler seems to like it. So far, we've only taken it for walks around the neighborhood. Before we go on a real hike, I want to make sure the passenger is comfortable with the pack; I don't think a screaming toddler 3 miles from the car in the middle of the woods qualifies as "having a good time. " The only issue I have with this bag is getting a perfect fit, which is more of a passenger issue than a pack issue. Our little one began to cry the first couple of times we used the pack because her legs had fallen asleep. She hasn't mastered language well enough to express what doesn't feel right in there yet, so it's a case of trial and error. br>br>We're getting better at it, and she now only complains for about 35 minutes at a time. She'll be able to go for 45 minutes to an hour. The point of no return is 60 minutes away. I believe that is about the maximum amount of time I could hope for. But, as I previously stated, I have no other comparable experience. With a little more practice and tweaking, I believe we'll be ready for some legitimate hikes.
I was able to comfortably carry my 25-pound toddler for a few hours even though I was 7 months pregnant, and the placement of the handles makes it easy to put on and take off. The stand is ideal for placing small children in. Overall, I think it's a great book. I like that you can add a bladder to it; we got a 3L Deuter bladder to go with it. In my opinion, the storage space is ample. Lunch and a couple diapers/wipes could fit in the backpack portion, while chapstick, a small amount of first aid items, phone, and cash could fit in the waist belt pouches. If you're going for more than a few hours, someone else may be required to carry more gear. I usually go out for no more than 5 hours, so this will suffice. If there was one thing I could change, it would be that there was a spot on the side to add a toddler water bottle.
We live in the Pacific Northwest, and with the pandemic in full swing, we decided that hiking in our area would be a great way to get out of the house and get some fresh air. We had a standard baby carrier that we used for shopping and other activities, but it wasn't nearly strong enough for hiking and would quickly exhaust us on longer hikes. br>br>So we did our research and found the highly recommended Deuter Kid Comfort, but we were stunned by the price! How could something so expensive be so expensive? We could see why as soon as it appeared. As a teen boy scout, I went on long backpacking trips, and this backpack was nicer, more comfortable, and better designed than any other backpack I had ever used. The best part is the airflow pocket created by the child carrier and your back. Given that our previous baby carrier had the baby snuggled up against you, this is incredible. br>br>Would strongly suggest this product to anyone looking for a fantastic carrier.
We went to REI and tried on every single item they had, and this was by far the most comfortable for both dad and child.
hiking with a 30 pound, 18-inch dog I'm very pleased with it as a month-old toddler. The characteristics are all well-designed. Comfort and relative ease of use are priorities in this design. The kid is at ease in there (and doesn't complain) and falls asleep quickly while I finish up the work. I added water bottle holders to the waist strap for easy access, and it can hold enough food and other items for a day hike.
It took some getting used to, but once we got it right, I can carry my 2-year-old without feeling like she's on my back. It evenly distributes weight and is comfortable to wear on long walks. She was at ease, and the backpack was a big hit with her. We adjusted it to a "small frame female with a long torso" and with only two minor changes that could be done on the trail while walking, we were able to switch it to an "average size male" and both were comfortable. br>br> br>br>It's great that it came with a shade canopy because I couldn't find one separately while shopping and assumed we'd have to go without.
