Questions & Answers

I'm not sure which power supply to use. Is it better to use 110 volts or 220 volts?

I use it with a 220v power supply, but I believe it will work with both.

Kenith, what is your frequency?

Sorry, I'm unable to respond; it was a gift for my wife, and she has yet to use it!

Is it possible to plug both the parent and the baby unit into the wall?

Yes. Both come with cables that can be plugged into the wall. Battery power is available for the parent unit. It is necessary to plug in the child unit.

Have you ever used two at the same time? interfering with your work?

There is only one of each. It really works!

This was a huge help
5/5

When my grandchildren come to visit, I use this for them. The reception is excellent, and it picks up even the tiniest sound. I am very pleased with this product, and it performs better than I expected. They didn't have these when my children were born, and while my daughter has a video camera in her home for monitoring, I didn't want to go to the expense or inconvenience of that for a once-in-a-while visit. I believe this is far more convenient than video monitoring because it can be carried in your pocket and is therefore more effective. It's better than watching a video because you can take it with you wherever you go. (Within range, of course; I have a 2000 sf ranch with the nursery on the opposite end of the house and it works perfectly. ) It's a great low-cost alternative to a camera, and I believe it's better than one.

Untrustworthy
3/5

I'm never sure if the handset is connected to the base or if it's working, which isn't something you want to be concerned about when purchasing something to monitor your child's room. The sound is crystal clear when it's linked. br>br> There is no white noise or distortion in the background. Unfortunately, the signal kept dropping and would not automatically reconnect; additionally, there was no talk-back capability. We upgraded from a Philips Avent DECT monitor to this because our child has grown up and we no longer require the lullaby, nightlight, or nursery functions. br>br> It has never given me any problems until now (7 years later), when the battery has stopped holding a charge. We thought we'd give this one a try because of the basic features and low price, but it turned out to be a disappointment for a Motorola product, so we ordered a new Philips Avent DECT model and are very happy with it.

As a parent monitoring system for the elderly, this is fantastic! The only setup required is to install the rechargeable battery pack in the parental audio receiving unit; otherwise, this is a basic monitoring system that is excellent for its price
5/5

All that remains is for both units to be plugged into their respective rooms. The volume isn't excessively loud, but it's adequate (for my use of this product as a monitoring system for elderly parents). And, of course, when the volume is turned all the way up. The audio is distorted and abrasive. Aside from that, it accomplishes my objectives.

Simple
3/5

***As of October 31, 2016, the information on this page has been updated. I've had this monitor for just over six months and it still won't charge. It works fine when plugged in, but as soon as you unplug it, it begins to beep as if the battery is about to die. br>br>I bought this monitor for my third baby because I had a video monitor for the first two, but the screen had to be on all the time and was too bright at night. As a result, I went out and purchased this basic one. I live in a 2400 square foot apartment. It picks up the baby's noises but not the sound machine that I run at night in his room, so it's ideal. If you're looking for something simple, this is the place to go.

Simply put, you should not purchase it
3/5

I purchased this monitor in the hopes of finding a good monitor based on the positive reviews. Nope. Even if you're only a few feet away, this thing cuts out; I know this because I'm a dog breeder who keeps a monitor in the whelp room when I can't be with the puppies. I keep the receiver by my side at all times, and every minute or so, the white noise fades out and goes silent. It's a nightmare situation. This monitor is not something I would recommend.

This method is effective
5/5

Get it. You'll be fine; this baby monitor does exactly what it claims to do, and it does it well. It's simple to use, has clear sound, and doesn't have a lot of fancy features like WiFi or cameras. All you have to do now is plug in the transmitter and turn on the receiver. If you have it turned down and your baby cries, it has a nice light strip that flashes at the top, so you'll notice it right away. It doesn't get any simpler than this, and it will save you money on diapers, which you'll need anyway. Oh, and it's still digitally transmitted via DECT, so don't expect it to be as good as the more expensive Philips models. So far, everything has gone according to plan.

It isn't quite what we had hoped for
3/5

It isn't quite what we had hoped for. Both parts of the monitor will be upstairs (main one in his room, receiver in ours), and his monitor may not register that he made a sound, so we can hear him down the hall in his room but not through the receiver in our room.

As expected, it functions properly
5/5

It's quite effective. It can even pick up outside noise, such as someone mowing the lawn or cars passing by. My daughter sleeps upstairs in the two-story house we own. The sound is picked up, and I can even hear it from outside my house.
