What a great idea! We purchased them for my two kids so they can take them on a plane trip across the country. The only two of us are at the airport, so I wanted to have these along so they don't It's amazing how good the locking mechanism works! Several people are posting reviews about how they don't work since you can just undo the Velcro underneath the lock, making it useless. The child can't put the wrist in it if it is indeed in there. I love it. This is an excellent set of tools!.

We have worn it for about an hour during walks without any issues, but initially getting the wrist straps on can be a bit frustrating for wiggly children with sensory issues, but after some practice it is pretty easy to put on.

It seems to work fine. Having three children, I know how difficult that can be. I used this technique on two of them. There should have been a way to connect both to one arm instead of having to wear each one on each wrist. That was somewhat frustrating.
