There is not much room in it. Despite its size, it is not the right bag for carrying a standard 8 1/2" x 11" paper or folder, but it will do fine for carrying some toys and snacks around town. To get a backpack for preschool, I got the regular size. It might be a good idea to fold small clumps of school papers into small balls before sending them home.

The leash is a little short but what caused me to give it a 1 star review is that it came delivered with an absolutely foul odor. There is only one way I can describe it, it smells like the stinkiest spice cabinet of all time! The smell is still there after I've wiped it clean, sprayed it with febreeze, and even put dryer sheets in the pockets in an attempt to destroy it. There is no way I can keep this from my daughter, who has to wear it with this smell. I'm going to wash it and see if that works, but there is no way I can let her wear.
I enjoyed them, but I returned them in a hurry at the retail store because they came in an extremely strong chemical smell that I could not eradicate. They didn't seem to get any better after I sprayed them with Febreze and hung them in the fresh air for more than 24 hours. It was disappointing.
My daughter is now 16 months old and I bought this for her. We have a lot of fun playing with the buckle when she wears this. The fact that it is light weight, has nice colors, and an adorable design makes it my favorite. Daily use of the product has proved to be durable and easy to maintain. It is washed in the washing machine and aired out after.
I believe it will fit my daughter well because the design is super cute. Essentially, the hook holder for the strap is at the bottom of the bag, so the bag is way too short and a bit cumbersome A design flaw of the highest order. I think that it would make more sense if it were at the top of the bag.
A trip to Mexico will be made with it. She walks fine on her own, just using the leash in case she needs it, but the leash is shorter, like other reviews mentioned. In any case, it will just be a place to keep some small toys and snacks for her!.
However, it is an overall cute item and serves its purpose well.
It's a great product, but we love it in the end. Having our tot walk freely with older siblings means she gets the independence she's used to and we can avoid worrying about her running out of our.
A small closet or space for clothes may also be sufficient for small children's toys and snacks.
