You do, in fact. To be honest, I put it together myself, and I'm not the most handy person on the planet. It wasn't as bad as it could have been.
The body is made of plywood with a Masonite finish that looks great and is ideal for four grandchildren's toys. When you open the lid, it stays up.
Smashed fingers have never been an issue for me. It will remain open once it is opened. and it lasts a long time. Mine, too, does not completely close, as stated in a previous review. My toy box was made out of mine.
You might be able to add your own lock - However, I don't believe this chest is capable of supporting heavy loads.

That concludes our discussion. This toy box is made of low-cost materials that were severely damaged upon arrival. Even the wood isn't in good condition. colors that matched! The lid does not fully close, and the safety close feature does not function properly. I would not have bought one if I had seen one in a store, much less paid more than $20 for it. I'm extremely disappointed!.
This took the place of some Sterilite totes that we used to store the kids' toys in the closet. This is for my boys, who are young and destructive, and it has proven to be durable since Christmas, about three months. To comprehend how destructive they are, you must first become acquainted with them. If it has lasted this long without breaking, I believe this toy box will as well. We intend to purchase a second one so that each of the boys has his own. I'm not going to start that can of worms just yet. We can only hope for the best.
I'm eager to get my hands on another. I bought it because my child's plastic tote had broken, and I was able to put it together in less than 30 minutes. If I didn't have little hands to help, it would be a lot less. I wish the bottom had a little more structure, but I like it so far that I want to get another one for my little girl to use as a hope chest.
Although the toy box is attractive, it is of poor quality. The lid does not completely close; there was about a half-inch gap, which isn't a big deal, but seriously, I haven't had it in my house for 24 hours and the paint is scratched from where it just touched the wall when I opened it. If it's supposed to be a toy box for kids, I'd expect it to be a little more sturdy. I despise seeing it after my toddler has spent time in and around it. Let's be honest, this thing isn't cheap, and I paid for it because I thought it would be fashionable and functional. When it's all chipped up, however, it won't look as nice. Get a new toy box, in my opinion.
It's a big hit with my 9-month-old. Every day, she slinks up to it. she is the one who opens the lid on her own looks in. Within a week, it had taught her how to stand on her own! We keep it stocked with all of her toys so that even if she can't reach the bottom, she can still play with them. It appears to be a treasure chest, which it is to her! br>One thing I really like about it is how smooth the sides are. panels. To decorate the panels, I used some of her nursery's leftover wall stickers (happi tree). Even on the inside of the lid, if you want to be extra creative. It's adorable and simple to decorate to match your child's room, or simply leave it as is. The thing I like best about it is that even if she opens it slightly, the lid stays put. Because there is a small gap, it will not close on her tiny fingers.
I found it to be relatively simple to put together. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not very sturdy on the bottom, which could cause it to break. The toy's weight is acceptable, but it would most likely break if my child attempted to climb inside as children do. Aside from that, I think it's fantastic. My one-year-old daughter can easily open and close it by herself and hasn't hurt her fingers in the process. Safe and secure environment.
This was purchased as a toy for my children. It has a nice appearance, but it dents easily, so I wouldn't recommend it for hard objects or children who are rough with their toys. I had this item for about a year before the inside latch that keeps the lid in place broke where it was screwed in. Apart from that, it appears to be okay as long as it isn't overused.
I bought this after what seemed like an eternity of searching for a decently sized one at a reasonable price, and this one checks both of those boxes. This has been in my possession for quite some time, and it is still in excellent condition.
