I strongly advise the supplier to conduct a thorough examination of their storage facilities. When I took the bassinet out of the box and into the clear plastic case, I noticed three small bugs crawling on the white cover. I tried to be brave, thinking it might just be those three, so I squished them and immediately put all of the washable elements in the washing machine, then took the basket outside and gave it a good shake, trying not to look too freaked out in front of my husband, who would have had a complete meltdown after a particularly stressful day. I then vacuumed the basket and the floor where I had unpacked it before placing it in two trash bags to be inspected the next morning. I put the basket in the empty bath tub in the morning and gave it a good shake, and sure enough, there were a few more crawling bugs among the bits that came off. They are tiny, but they are definitely there. The basket is now sealed inside three trash bags, and I'm hoping that the seller will see this review and contact me to figure out what I should do next. This was one of the first items I purchased for my baby, and the whole ordeal has left me feeling very upset. I'm convinced that whatever these bugs are, they have infested my entire apartment. HELP. This is something I don't want to happen to anyone else!.
The basket itself is lovely and would look lovely in a nursery, but I had to return it because it's too narrow to fit a snuggle me infant lounger inside, which is exactly what I needed (to move around the house, not to sleep!). I've seen instagram influencers post photos of the lounger inside the basket, so I'm guessing they reshape the basket to fit. See photos of him snuggling me, which are all squished and folded inside, making it extremely dangerous. br>br>Apart from that, it would be ideal for sleeping during the first few months; it's narrow, so the baby will feel secure and confined, which is usually a good thing when it comes to getting them to sleep. I would definitely recommend a waterproof pad under the sheet because the foam mattress is 1" thick and not too hard or soft. br>The "natural" color is slightly more yellow than what is shown in the product photos, as evidenced by the photos in this review. br>The basket liner is padded, and removing the mattress pad leaves a small gap on the side. br>br>While some reviews have mentioned bugs or stray threads, the one I received had neither.
To go with it, I ordered the Rocking Moses Basket Stand Natural rocking stand from Amazon. Fits perfectly (though I'll have to tighten the side bars a little). In any case, the basket is lovely. very well-made The cotton cover can be removed, and the basket is still lovely (plan to use it for toys and other items once the baby has outgrown the bassinet). It also comes with a pad and a washable sheet that can be removed. For extra padding, I bought the Tadpoles Moses Basket Foam Pad with Cotton Terry Cover, White to go with the basket. I recommend getting all three of these at the same time.
This was one of those items that I really wanted to like. It arrived in a very cute package, and the basket appears to be quite durable. Bugs don't bother me at all. However, with the minky siding, I realized that this wasn't a safe sleeping surface. I removed the siding to see if I could just use the mattress in the basket alone, and it's a good 2-inch thick mattress. The basket is 3 inches too narrow. br>br>I also wanted to wash the included linens, so I did so in cold water and air dried them because I was afraid they would shrink if I used heat. They've shrunk down to the point where they're no longer usable. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product and believe I have squandered a significant amount of money on it. br>br>I suppose it's "giftable" in the sense that it looks cute on its own if you don't wash it and keep an eye on the baby to make sure they're sleeping safely, but it's not really usable as a sleep surface.
Since we brought my son home, he has slept in this Moses basket in our room. It's also great to take to the grandparents' house for him to sleep in when I need to shower with the ikea activity toy.
The quality is excellent, and I especially like the Minky bedding! Now all we have to do is wait for the babies to arrive and see how they react!
Edit: I only used them for a short time after my twins were born, which is entirely my fault and not the bassinets'. My boys simply prefer to sleep together, and the stand I was using with them was a little shorter than my bed, making it difficult for me to get the babies out to feed during the night without having to get completely out of bed. Please keep in mind that this may not be an issue for the majority of people; I simply have a very y'all bed!.
There is no need to put the pieces together. Simply put the basket where you want it right out of the box. There is no need to do any extra work. Although I had anticipated the natural bedding color to be more beige than yellow, I'm still very pleased with it! The bedding was of excellent quality, and I would recommend it to anyone.
It's both adorable and practical. When I was downstairs, I wanted something cute that wouldn't be an eyesore for my newborn. It's adorable and sits on a rocking stand in my living room. The fabric is extremely soft and does not appear to be of low quality. I strongly advise it.
