With its smooth glide between door frames, it moves from one room to the next with ease. A great heat return is provided by the bedding, which is easily washable. Unless you live in a very cold climate, you won't need the blanket that comes with the product. Instead, the product comes with a beautiful, breathable blanket that matches the bedding. That the basket itself is small is okay if the baby is fast growing (and if that's the case, it can be placed anywhere). There is only one thing I would suggest maybe go for the one with the hood if you will be taking it out in the sun or if it's particularly hot outside. In our house, we sometimes drape a light muslin swaddling cloth over part of the nap top of infants to make them more comfortable and help them sleep better. I waited 3 months before buying it even though my sister swore by something like this. The price was too high and my husband didn't think we needed to spend that much on it. We are so thrilled to have it in our hands now! Though this will be my last baby, I will continue to use this product every single day until he grows out of it, then we will pass it on to another family.
The only issue is that this product is so expensive. It might be faster to find one used for less, but if you go without, you'll be doing yourself a disservice. We simply wanted the most natural bassinet we could find. The fact that many bassinets contain harmful chemicals and most of them are made out of plastic is no wonder SIDS is on the rise. This was a fairly easy item to put together, it took a half hour or so. There were only metal supports at each end of the basket to support the last 4 inches of the edge. It would seem they wouldn't have an issue since infants are so light, but our child is under 8 pounds now at 3 weeks of age. basket is creaking under her weight and will eventually bow under its own weight, so I had to cut a 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood into the form of the basket in order to provide more support across the whole middle. Its brakes are also not a big deal, but it is a complaint. To engage the brakes, you need to twist them, and it's not the easiest process. If you are in the more natural market, I would consider other options. It's a nice design and color, but the parts don't fit together correctly. It is impossible to screw on the wheels because the metal bars "support" them and do not fit in their place correctly.
