Questions & Answers
There are two included.
They can be used again and again, just like a cold ice pack from the freezer. They can be reheated or stored in the refrigerator indefinitely.
My set came with two gel pads, but I was disappointed that the covers were not included. I had previously purchased them and they came with covers, so I knew what to expect. I'm only buying them again because the first ones exploded in the microwave, and I'm going to return them.

Use: Keeps you warm for an extended period of time. br>I tried them cold (frozen) and hot (microwaved) for various reasons, with varying results. COLD: These quickly froze and became cold, so I used them every couple of hours between feedings to reduce engorgement. I noticed that they became cold quickly but quickly defrosted after being inserted into my bra; however, I did not find them to be particularly cold. HOT: I liked these hot, so I popped them in the microwave for 20 seconds. Wear them for 25 seconds before and during pumping, and then for a few minutes after. They remained warm throughout my pumping session, and they occasionally required a cool down period before use. br>br>Included in the package: br>br> In the plastic box, there were two gel inserts in the shape of a "C" and two fabric covers. br>br>Cover fabric: br>Two purple washable fabric covers are included with these. The gel package is folded and inserted into the cover, which is then closed with a clasp. These covers are suitable for (1) engulfment in the cold and (2) pre-engulfment in the cold. Whether you're pumping or feeding, you'll need to make a decision They're not ideal for pumping because breast milk makes them sticky. The fabric is pleasant to the touch. ish, and it cleans up nicely. HOT for Pumping: br>br>HOT for Pumping: br>br>HOT for Pumping: br>br br>I liked using these before and during pumping because they helped me get more milk out. (20-minute) in the microwave 25 seconds), then put my bra on for a few minutes before removing it and wrapping it around the pump flange before starting to pump. These stayed in place without needing to be held in place while pumping. br>br>Washable: br>br>Washing instructions: br>br>Washing br>After each use, I rinsed them in the sink and dried them by hand if they were frozen, or by air if they were hot. Overall: br>br> br>Not as soft as other hot/cold breast products, but easy to clean, warms up quickly, and is simple to use while pumping. ***Please let me know if you found this review helpful by clicking the "helpful" button below. br>br>***If you found this review helpful, please let me know by clicking the "helpful" button below. Buy these before you have your baby, put them in your freezer, (fast forward to sometime after birth) feel the agonizing fire that is your milk coming in, remove these from your freezer (thank your past self for being so organized), place them in their soft purple pouch (included), and stuff them in your bra to put out the fire where your boobs used to be.
Before pumping, a lactation consultant recommended that I use warm compresses to help the milk come out more easily and relieve engorgement. This heating pad is fantastic. br>br>I microwaved both heating pads for 19 seconds before massaging them with my hands to disperse any hot spots. They're very comfortable to wear, and I put them in my bra for a few minutes before pumping. I believe they aid in the relief of engorgement and increase the efficiency of pumping. br>br>Here are a few more pumping tips: While pumping, massage your breasts to encourage them to empty completely. To make pumping easier on your nipples, lubricate the inside of the flange with lanolin. Make sure you have the correct flange size for your nipple; don't just use the one that came with the pump. A lactation consultant can assist you in determining the appropriate size, or you can experiment with different sizes on your own. The entire nipple, but not much of the areola, should fit inside the flange. br>br>Wishing you the best of luck on your breastfeeding journey!.
Not at all what I had anticipated.
These are excellent for use while pumping. It aids in the clearing of clogged ducts and the production of more milk. So far, I've only used it for warm compresses and have found it to be extremely useful. I like to use it before bedtime pumping so that I can empty out as much as possible and sleep for longer periods of time. Pumping in the middle of the night due to breast pain can be inconvenient and exhausting for women who produce a lot of milk, but after using this, I can sleep much longer without having to worry about breast pain. br>br>Use with a hands-free pumping bra to get the most out of it.
When it comes to sore breasts at the start of breastfeeding, this is a lifesaver. I was also able to get through a bad case of mastitis with the help of it. I'm sure you could use things you already have around the house for the same purpose, but I like that these come with a soft, washable cover and are fitted to the breast; I feel like postpartum life is already difficult enough, so having something specifically designed for breastfeeding makes things a little easier. I didn't like using these for hot food, so I just put them in the freezer, but it was a welcome change.
I liked them a lot. They were of excellent quality and extremely simple to operate. I used them for the heat factor, and they only took a few minutes to heat up and use. They didn't get too hot and were extremely helpful when I was engorged and my ducts appeared to be clogged. When I used these, I felt immediate relief, which was extremely helpful. The only drawback is that only one on each side didn't allow them to reach all the way to the back and sides of my breast where they were really needed, so I had to place and move them around with my hands instead of being able to use it like the box shows, which made it a little inconvenient while trying to do other things or pump/breastfeed at the same time. If you want to use it like the box shows, I would recommend putting two together for each side. Aside from that, I really enjoyed it and am glad I bought it.
I bought these twice for my wife; the first pair I microwaved for 30 seconds and the plastic melted, releasing the purple pearls. Because of the shape, she is a big fan of this product. They're mostly used when she's using the breast pump or when she's having trouble swallowing.
