Because I had the Medla pump, I was able to obtain this. The bottle, on the other hand, is not very good. My baby's nipple has just caved in due to her strong suction. br>br>I also had a large freezer stash, and when it was thawed, most of the bags leaked. So sad.
This set appeals to me on a whole. With that said, my baby has feeding issues and choked badly on the slow flow nipple, so we've put it off until she's a little more experienced and can handle it. I took her to the ER because the episode was so bad. She was suctioned and they discovered some fluid in her lungs, so we'll have to keep an eye on her for pneumonia. She just needs a preemie nipple or to be breastfed and extra care with positioning and trying to slow her down if she tries to eat too fast. I just wanted to warn you that if you know your baby has similar issues, you might want to hold off on the slow flow nipple that comes with this set. It was her first episode in our case, and she had been eating normally up until that point. However, I still use this set to store my milk and connect the pieces to my pump!.
I change my nipples every month because they leak all the time, and I'm only using them because my breast pump is a medela, so I'm trying to stick with the brand, but they leak no matter how I store them or what temperature I put them in after a few weeks. While the baby suckles, the nipple moves around and occasionally callopses. I'm at a loss for what to do now. It's so aggravating to feed the baby only to discover that they aren't getting enough because the food is leaking down their chin cheeks and neck. And, as a breastfeeding mother, you don't want any milk to go to waste, because that would be a waste of money. These aren't meant to be used for long periods of time and haven't even lasted 30 days. Even though I don't heat them or keep them in the fridge, these nipples don't last long.
The flow of the nipples is not slow. I like the cylinders because they allow for precise measurements and portioning. Nipples irritate me. They don't move at a snail's pace. They are, without a doubt, the fastest "slow flow" I've ever seen. We primarily purchased this set to store my excess supply after we unexpectedly became an exclusively pumping family right out of the hospital, and we had no intention of feeding from these bottles. I wish you could just buy the cylinders. br>br>(Hint: The medela bottles and cylinders are compatible with enfamil nipples. They're a lot less expensive and have a slower flow rate. ).
This was an excellent addition to my pump's four bottles. The nipples make it easy to pump into the same container, but they were a little too fast for my newborn. We rotated the containers through the fridge on a daily basis because I wasn't freezing most of what I pumped.
For my first chuld, I used Medela, and for my second, I ordered these. I will say that you can't use it for as long as you'd like; I produce a lot of milk, so the 3 oz don't last very long before I have to switch to the 8 oz. However, this is an excellent starter set.
For a newborn, the bottles are a good size. The small tubes are the perfect size; I purchased them for my newborn and they were exactly the right size (similar to Similac newborn bottles). The main reason I got it was so I could use the nipples in the Similac newborn bottles. The bottles' nipples, but they're of poor quality. Several times, they sink into the bottles. Because I was having trouble producing breast milk, I didn't use the bags. I don't have enough to store because I haven't made enough.
I like how I can use the same bottles to pump, freeze, and feed from. The bags are ideal for storing items for a long time.
